Entry-level Car Sales for April 2025 (units: cars)
Hyundai Grand i10: 325 cars
In April 2025, Hyundai sold a total of 325 Grand i10 units in Vietnam, a decrease of 9.9%. Despite being the only model in the segment to experience a sales decline, the Hyundai representative remains in the top position.
Hyundai Grand i10
In recent years, the entry-level car segment in Vietnam has lost some of its appeal. However, the Hyundai Grand i10 has maintained relatively stable sales thanks to its attractive price range of VND 360-455 million and competitive features within the segment.
The Hyundai Grand i10 received an upgraded version in Vietnam in 2024, with minor design improvements. Notable features include LED daytime running lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, and side mirrors with turn signal indicators. Additionally, the car is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a dedicated Vietnamese navigation system, push-button start, and smart key entry.
Under the hood is a 1.2L Kappa MPi gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota Wigo: 295 cars
The Toyota Wigo was the most impressive model in the entry-level car segment last month. With 295 units sold, it achieved a remarkable 72.5% growth rate. As a result, the Toyota Wigo has narrowed the sales gap with its rival, the Hyundai Grand i10.
Toyota Wigo
The Toyota Wigo in Vietnam is currently offered in a single trim, the G, with a price tag of VND 405 million. Consequently, it has fewer trim options and a higher starting price compared to its competitors in the segment. However, it boasts competitive features that match its rivals.
The Toyota Wigo is equipped with LED headlights, electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors, 14-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a four-speaker audio system. Additionally, it offers rare safety features in this segment, such as the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) systems.
The Toyota Wigo is powered by a 1.2L engine paired with a Dual-CVT automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum output of 87 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. With the discontinuation of the E trim, the Wigo no longer offers a manual transmission option.
Kia Morning: 45 cars
Similar to the Toyota Wigo, the Kia Morning also experienced sales growth in April 2025, with 45 units sold, representing a 45.1% increase. However, due to its modest actual sales figures, the Kia Morning continues to lag behind in the entry-level car segment. When compared to the other two contenders, the Kia model falls short.
Kia Morning
The Kia Morning in Vietnam is currently available in two trims: MT and X-Line, priced at VND 349 million and VND 424 million, respectively. It is currently the most affordable model in the entry-level car segment.
Reflecting its price point, the Kia Morning’s features are less impressive than those of its competitors. It lacks LED headlights and cruise control. Additionally, the Kia Morning in Vietnam has not received any significant design or feature upgrades in recent times.
Notable features of the Kia Morning include LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors with turn signal indicators, 14-15 inch wheels, an analog instrument cluster with a multi-information display, leather seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a six-speaker audio system, and automatic climate control.
The Kia Morning is powered by a 1.25L Kappa gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 83 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque. It is paired with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
