The Honda HR-V has received a minor update in the US market to maintain its position as the most popular SUV for first-time car buyers and Gen Z. It is also the top choice among Hispanic consumers, according to an official press release from the Japanese brand.

Unlike the global Honda HR-V available in various markets such as Vietnam, the US version features a completely different design and is larger in size. This model is also known as the Honda ZR-V in markets like China and was first introduced in the US in 2023, sharing the same platform as the current-generation Honda Civic.

For the 2026 model year, the US-spec Honda HR-V will be offered in three trim levels: LX, Sport, and EX-L. The LX and EX-L trims receive a new Solar Reflection Metallic paint option, while the Sport trim features a Boost Blue Pearl color option with black logo detailing on the rear hatch. Aside from these new additions, the overall design of the vehicle remains unchanged from the previous model.

The 2026 Honda HR-V features new alloy wheel designs in 17-inch and 18-inch sizes. Notably, the top-of-the-line EX-L trim now comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a size upgrade from the previous model.

New wheel designs are also introduced for the Honda HR-V 2026.

Inside, the Honda HR-V 2026 benefits from an updated infotainment system with a larger 9-inch touchscreen display, a 2-inch increase over the previous model. It supports wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, similar to its sibling, the CR-V. Additionally, Honda has included wireless smartphone charging as standard equipment, a valuable upgrade for this vehicle.

Similarly, privacy glass is now standard across all trims. The range-topping EX-L trim adds silver accents on the steering wheel spokes, illuminated climate control buttons with multi-color lighting (red, green, and white), and footwell lighting.

Other notable features of the 2026 Honda HR-V in the US market include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a sound system with 4 to 8 speakers, depending on the trim level. The Honda Sensing suite of safety technologies remains standard, including features such as adaptive cruise control, low-speed follow, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and collision mitigation braking.

All three trim levels of the 2026 Honda HR-V in the US are powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline engine that produces 158 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 138 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. This VTEC, DOHC engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available as an option for an additional $1,500.

The 2026 Honda HR-V retains the previous engine.

Pricing for the 2026 Honda HR-V in the US starts at $26,200 and goes up to $31,550 (approximately $680 to $819 million) excluding a $1,395 destination charge. The aforementioned enhancements come at an $800 premium over the previous model year.
