Yamaha Motor Vietnam is set to officially launch the XMAX 300 2025 sports scooter on May 31, 2025. This is the first time Yamaha has organized a large-scale event exclusively for the maxi-scooter segment in Vietnam.
XMAX 300 2025 is an upgraded version of the model that has been known to Vietnamese consumers in recent years. This time, Yamaha focuses on refining the details to perfect the riding experience rather than making comprehensive design changes.
The scooter’s exterior still strongly features the distinctive language of the MAX Series, evident in the bold twin LED headlights shaped like binoculars, combined with a modern positioning light strip for a dynamic and sharp look. Aerodynamics design continues to be a focus, but Yamaha has fine-tuned some minor details, such as a new exhaust system, reducing the vehicle’s weight by about 800 grams compared to its predecessor. This slight reduction promises to enhance agility during operation, especially in crowded urban environments.
One of the most notable upgrades on the XMAX 300 2025 is its entirely new display system. The scooter is equipped with a dual-screen setup: a 4.2-inch TFT color screen that serves as a multimedia information center, connecting to your phone via the Y-Connect app, and a 3.2-inch monochrome LCD screen for essential operational information like speed, fuel level, and trip meter.
Notably, the XMAX 300 2025 features electrically adjustable wind protection, usually only found on high-end large-displacement motorcycles. This feature allows the rider to adjust the windshield height according to weather conditions, speed, or riding posture, providing significant convenience when traveling long distances.
In terms of power, the XMAX 300 2025 remains faithful to the Blue Core single-cylinder, 292cc, liquid-cooled engine. The engine delivers a maximum power of 28 horsepower and a maximum torque of 29 Nm. This engine has been fine-tuned to meet Euro 5+ emission standards, contributing to reduced environmental emissions while ensuring performance. According to Yamaha, the vehicle’s fuel consumption is 3.26 liters per 100 km.
Currently, the Yamaha XMAX 300 is officially distributed through the Revzone Yamaha Motor system nationwide, priced at VND 139 million. Compared to competitors in the same segment or private imported vehicles, this price is considered competitive, especially considering the list of convenience features the scooter possesses.
Authorized dealers have started taking deposits for the 2025 model, while the first batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered right after the launch at the end of May.
Yamaha’s separate launch event for the XMAX 300 in Hanoi not only highlights the strategic importance of this scooter but also reflects a shift in the trend of large-displacement scooter consumption in Vietnam. As domestic users increasingly value convenience, sports style, and agile performance, maxi-scooters like the XMAX 300 are becoming the preferred choice over mid-range motorcycles or high-end conventional scooters.
