BYD Vietnam Automotive Co., Ltd. (BYD Vietnam) officially announces its partnership with Grab Vietnam to promote the use of electric vehicles in Vietnam.
As part of this collaboration, the two parties jointly launch the “Quality per Trip – BYD Lock” program from May 19 to August 19, 2025, offering attractive incentives and support to encourage driver-partners to switch to electric vehicles. The cooperation marks an important step forward in the green transition for ride-hailing services, aiming for a new experience: premium electric vehicles, smooth operation, and optimized economic efficiency.
Mr. Ouyang Xiaocheng, General Director of BYD Vietnam, stated, “BYD not only provides new energy vehicles but also works with Grab Vietnam to create a new service experience in Vietnam, where drivers are accompanied by advanced technology, and customers enjoy a journey as if they are in a premium vehicle.”
Redefining the Standard for Ride-Hailing Vehicles
Vietnam’s ride-hailing market is witnessing a strong shift from traditional internal combustion engines to environmentally friendly electric vehicles and from a “sufficient” experience to expectations of comfort, convenience, and sophistication. As the world’s leading new energy vehicle brand, BYD Vietnam proactively partners with Grab Vietnam, the number one ride-hailing app in terms of brand usage, to materialize this trend by offering optimized solutions tailored for ride-hailing drivers and Vietnamese customers.
As part of the program, BYD Vietnam introduces a dedicated electric vehicle product portfolio for GrabCar drivers, featuring the flagship BYD M6 Premium Car – a modern 7-seat electric MPV with a spacious interior, advanced safety technology, and a stylish design. Additionally, prominent electric vehicle models such as the BYD ATTO 3, BYD DOLPHIN, and BYD SEAL are also included in the program, catering to diverse operational needs, from agile city cars to VIP guest pickup services.
The campaign focuses on two key target groups:
GrabCar drivers: Those who are currently using gasoline vehicles and are interested in switching to electric vehicles to save operational and maintenance costs and enjoy a premium in-cabin experience with modern amenities.
Consumers/Grab passengers: Individuals who seek to elevate their travel experience with a luxurious cabin space, smooth and quiet rides, and the feeling of “riding in a private car while using Grab.”
During the campaign, GrabCar drivers who register to purchase BYD vehicles will be entitled to exclusive benefits, including an income guarantee of up to VND 25 million/month, activation of the GrabCar Plus service (subject to applicable terms and conditions), and an 8-year or 500,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
BYD M6 – The New Star of the Premium Ride-Hailing Segment
At the heart of the campaign is the BYD M6, a versatile all-electric MPV suitable for both personal and ride-hailing business use. The BYD M6 boasts a spacious 3-row cabin, a large entertainment screen, comfortable leather seats, and a separate air conditioning system for each zone, maximizing the satisfaction of both drivers and passengers. The vehicle is equipped with a powerful electric motor, a regenerative braking system, and fast-charging capability, optimizing continuous operating time throughout the day.
Accompanying the BYD M6, three prominent electric vehicle models from the brand are also integrated into the Grab ecosystem:
BYD ATTO 3 – A dynamic urban SUV, ideal for modern GrabCar Plus drivers who appreciate technology.
BYD DOLPHIN – A compact and agile hatchback, perfect for GrabCar drivers seeking an economical and stable vehicle.
BYD SEAL – A premium sedan, tailored for VIP guest pickup services with a modern interior and a luxurious experience.
