Honda unveiled the Scoopy Kuromi, a special edition model celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved Sanrio character, Kuromi, last March.
The Honda Scoopy Kuromi is a limited edition, with only 2,000 units produced, and a small number have already made their way to Vietnam through private dealers in Ho Chi Minh City.
Based on the latest generation of the Scoopy scooter series, the Kuromi edition retains the soft and curvy design language characteristic of the Scoopy. Its dimensions are 1,869 mm in length, 693 mm in width, and 1,075 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,251 mm and a seat height of 746 mm. With a dry weight of just 95 kg, it is a perfect fit for young or female riders.
The standout feature of this limited-edition Honda Scoopy is the exterior decoration, featuring Kuromi on both sides of the vehicle, the front fender, and below the hook in the steering area. Additionally, the footrest area is enhanced with a custom mat emblazoned with the “20th Anniversary of Kuromi” slogan, adding a unique personal touch.
Accompanying the scooter is a limited-edition helmet and t-shirt, both adorned with official Kuromi artwork, elevating the collectability and exclusive ownership experience.
Despite its compact size, the Honda Scoopy Kuromi boasts impressive features such as LED headlights, positioning lights forming two arcs, round taillights, and a striking purple-painted kickstand. The turn signals are separate from the main light cluster, preserving the classic look.
The instrument cluster is fully digital, complemented by a Smartkey system and a USB Type-C charging port integrated below the handlebars. Both wheels feature 12-inch rims, with a front disc brake and rear drum brake setup.
Powering the Honda Scoopy Kuromi is a SOHC, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 109.5 cc engine that delivers 8.8 horsepower and a peak torque of 9.2 Nm. Coupled with a CVT transmission, it is optimized for urban commuting.
While the importing dealer has not announced the official price, the scooter is priced at 60,800 baht in Thailand, roughly equivalent to 43 million VND. However, taking into account taxes and import costs, the actual price in Vietnam could reach around 90 million VND, similar to the previously introduced Scoopy Hello Kitty.
With its limited global production and distinctive style, the Honda Scoopy Kuromi is poised to captivate scooter enthusiasts and collectors alike who appreciate the fusion of cartoonish charm and functionality.
