Nguyen Quoc Cuong, better known as Cuong “Dollar”, is not only a prominent real estate entrepreneur but also an avid supercar enthusiast. He made waves in the automotive world and the media when he imported the first Lamborghini Gallardo to Vietnam in 2007.

Cuong “Dollar”‘s garage currently boasts an impressive collection of nearly 10 supercars, sports cars, luxury vehicles, and SUVs, always ready to cater to his passion for driving. However, recently, the husband of Dam Thu Trang surprised everyone by stepping out in a Toyota 86, leaving his multi-billion-dong supercars at home.

Cuong “Dollar” acquired the Toyota 86 manual and transformed it with an expensive modification, costing more than the original price of the JDM car. On a whim, he decided to take it out for a spin to a secret location, unbeknownst to even his wife.

The Toyota 86 sports car, with just 680 miles on the odometer, was quickly snapped up by Cuong “Dollar” in February of this year. It was only on the market for an hour before he made the purchase.

Over the past three months, Cuong “Dollar” has invested hundreds of millions of dong in upgrading the Toyota 86 to enhance the driving experience. He started with a set of 18-inch Rays TE37 S-Plus wheels.

The wheels feature a bold single-spoke design in a copper color, adding a touch of sophistication to the Toyota 86’s stance. Accompanying them are GRMN 6-piston brakes – the GR Master Nurburgring Limited Edition, a perfect match for this car.

He then installed Ohlins Road & Track shocks and a Tomei titanium exhaust system (including titanium headers) for an impressive sound when accelerating. Under the hood, he added a carbon fiber engine cover from Armaspeed.

Inspired by the legendary Toyota 2000GT, the Toyota 86 sports a fastback 2+2 design with dimensions of 4,240 x 1,775 x 1,320 mm and a wheelbase of 2,570 mm.

The mid-life refresh of the Toyota 86 includes subtle design tweaks such as a revised front bumper, rear diffuser, and updated headlight and taillight designs. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a 10-spoke design that contrasts between Gun Metal Grey and chrome accents.

Powering the Toyota 86 is a 2.0-liter FA20 I4 direct-injection engine that produces 204 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 212 Nm of torque between 6,400 and 6,800 rpm. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
