As of June 2025, Suzuki Vietnam continues its promotional program for its two flagship models, the XL7 Hybrid and Jimny.

Notably, this month’s incentives are higher than previous months, indicating an effort to boost sales and accelerate inventory clearance.

Specifically, the 2024 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid comes with a 100% registration fee support, equivalent to a discount of approximately VND 60 million. For the 2025 production version (VIN 2025), the brand offers a 50% registration fee incentive, saving customers about VND 30 million.

Similarly, the 3-door Suzuki Jimny SUV also receives a 100% registration fee incentive, worth up to VND 80 million. This offer is only valid for vehicles with 2024 VIN.

Suzuki’s move to increase promotions is seen as a strategy to enhance the competitiveness of its products, especially as the company still has a significant amount of inventory due to sales not meeting expectations.

Compared to its rivals in the MPV segment, the incentives for the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid are considered competitive. The Toyota Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio also offer a 100% registration fee waiver, equivalent to a cash discount of VND 56-64 million. Meanwhile, the Honda BR-V receives a 50% registration fee support, equivalent to VND 31-35 million, depending on the version.

However, despite the attractive incentives, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid still struggles to attract customers. In the first four months of 2025, only 769 units were sold, significantly lower than competitors such as the Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Veloz Cross, Honda BR-V, and Kia Carens.

The Suzuki Jimny – the small off-road SUV, despite being expected to be a “characterful” car attracting young customers, has not yet achieved commercial success. As of April 2025, only 94 Jimny units were sold in Vietnam.

The high price is one of the main barriers, as this model starts at VND 789 million, comparable to many larger 5+2 SUV models. Meanwhile, the Jimny only offers 4 seats, a small space, and basic convenience and safety features.

Given the lackluster sales of the XL7 and Jimny, Suzuki Vietnam is expected to refresh its product portfolio this year. The company has revealed plans to launch two new models, the new-generation Suzuki Swift and the Fronx.

Notably, the new Suzuki Swift has unexpectedly appeared on the official fan page of the brand, raising expectations for an imminent re-entry. As for the Fronx – a B-segment crossover SUV, Suzuki confirmed its official introduction in Vietnam by the end of this year.

The addition of new models, especially those with more modern designs and technology, is expected to help Suzuki regain growth momentum in the increasingly competitive automotive market.
