Leaked images from test drives suggest that Toyota is gearing up to launch a three-row SUV in the Indian market. Based on previous hints from Toyota, this is likely to be the seven-seat variant of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a five-seat SUV that shares a platform with the Suzuki Grand Vitara. It was introduced in India in 2022 and is known as the Urban Cruiser in South Africa and the Middle East.

According to the leaked images, the seven-seat variant of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder features a similar design to its five-seat counterpart, with some alterations to the front and rear. For instance, the taillights have been refined for a sleeker look, and the trunk has been enlarged.

At the front, the grille and bumper have been modified for enhanced recognition.

The cabin is expected to retain the dashboard design from the Suzuki Grand Vitara while adding family-oriented features. Some of the expected equipment in this seven-seat SUV includes a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a 10.25-inch central infotainment screen, and six airbags.

According to Cartoq, the seven-seat variant of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder will continue to use a hybrid powertrain paired with a 1.5L gasoline engine, producing 103-116 horsepower and 137 Nm of torque. Some sources suggest that the fuel consumption of this new model is around 4.9 liters/100 km.

The vehicle is expected to be priced at approximately $19,200, similar to the hybrid version of the MPV Innova in India.

It remains unclear whether Toyota plans to introduce this seven-seat SUV in Vietnam, as the company already offers the Innova Cross HEV ($43,000) in its hybrid lineup in the country.
