The 2026 Hyundai Palisade isn’t just a mid-life upgrade, it’s a significant evolution in design, technology, and powertrain.
Recently, real-world images of this large SUV in South Korea have been attracting special attention from the online community.
The 2026 Palisade sports a fresh look with a boxy, modern, and more muscular design language compared to its predecessor. Hyundai seems to have blended the design ethos of the Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9 electric vehicles, infused with a dash of European muscle, especially evident on the new off-road-focused XRT PRO variant developed exclusively for the US market.
The front fascia impresses with a lighting signature comprising five horizontal LED strips. Aerodynamic elements such as active air flaps and vertical A-pillars optimize performance, contributing to a remarkably low 0.31 Cd drag coefficient for an SUV of this size.
The vehicle’s dimensions have also grown, with an overall length increase of 63.5 mm and a wheelbase stretch of 68.5 mm, enhancing interior space and passenger comfort.
The Palisade 2026 cabin reinforces its position in the segment with a spacious and premium three-row seating layout. The dashboard features a soft-contoured design, paired with a minimalist center console and dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported wirelessly.
Hyundai prioritizes comfort with the optional “Relaxation” seats for the first and second rows, offering deep recline and thigh extension akin to business-class airline seats. The standard configuration is eight seats, but a middle-row captain’s chair setup is available for added privacy and convenience.
The third-row seats are equipped with heating and power-folding functions, and all three rows benefit from high-power USB-C ports and individual cupholders, a rare convenience in this segment.
A notable new feature is the “Stay Mode,” which allows the vehicle to maintain climate control and infotainment functions while stationary without idling the engine, similar to electric vehicles. This is a significant advantage for rest stops, camping, or utilizing the vehicle as a mobile living space.
The highlight of the Palisade 2026 is the introduction of a hybrid powertrain. This setup combines a 2.5L turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 329 horsepower and 459 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, Hyundai retains the naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 engine option, producing 287 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The V6-equipped version can tow up to 5,000 pounds (over 2,200 kg), while the hybrid variant manages 4,000 pounds.
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade also introduces the XRT PRO trim. This variant is optimized for light off-roading, boasting a 25 mm higher ground clearance, dedicated all-terrain tires, an electronic rear limited-slip differential, a tow hook, standard all-wheel drive, and terrain modes for Mud, Sand, and Snow.
The advanced terrain management system includes real-time displays of tilt, compass, and altitude, aiding drivers in challenging conditions. The XRT PRO’s interior is equally impressive, featuring a panoramic sunroof, premium faux-leather upholstery, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, and ambient lighting with multiple color options.
While the official release date of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade in Vietnam is unknown, the leaked images and information have already sparked significant interest among local consumers. With its transformative design, cutting-edge technology, first-ever hybrid option, and dedicated off-road variant, the Palisade is poised to make a significant impact in the premium 7-seater SUV segment in Vietnam in the near future.
