Yamaha NVX 155: A Sporty and Sleek Scooter for the Modern Rider
The Yamaha NVX 155 has undergone a comprehensive redesign since its predecessor, now boasting a bold and modern aesthetic. The front end features an expanded grille and sharp, LED headlights in a distinct V-shape, integrated with sleek turn signals. Notably, the turn signals are now positioned higher, creating a harmonious and dynamic overall look.
The body is sleek and streamlined, with minimal detailing for a sleek, modern feel. The rear end takes on a sharp, angular shape, reminiscent of larger sports motorcycles, appealing to young, speed-loving, and adventurous riders.
One of the standout features of the Yamaha NVX 155 2025 is its digital instrument cluster, offering three different display modes for optimal visibility in all lighting conditions. Additionally, the scooter comes with a smart key system and front-wheel ABS, a highly regarded safety feature in its class.
Yamaha NVX 155 2025 retains the proven 155cc Blue Core engine, a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled powerhouse with VVA technology. This engine delivers an impressive 15.4 horsepower at 8,000 rpm.
The most significant upgrade is the YECVT electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Unlike traditional CVTs that rely solely on centrifugal force, this system incorporates a small electric motor to control the front pulley, resulting in improved responsiveness and a noticeable “turbo” sensation when accelerating. Riders will also appreciate the added flexibility that mimics the feel of a manual transmission.
To optimize performance for various riding conditions, Yamaha offers two driving modes: T-Mode (Town Mode) for urban riding and S-Mode (Sport Mode) for acceleration and long-distance cruising. Additionally, the Y-Shift technology provides three response adjustment levels (low, medium, and high), allowing riders to choose their preferred transmission style.
For instance, when riding downhill, selecting a higher transmission level utilizes engine braking, reducing reliance on the physical brakes and minimizing the risk of brake locking.
According to Vietnam’s Directorate for Roads, the Yamaha NVX 155 2025 boasts impressive fuel efficiency, consuming just 2.21 liters per 100 km, making it a frugal choice in its segment.
With significant upgrades in both technology and design, Yamaha aims to reclaim market share from its primary rival, the Honda Air Blade 160, which is currently priced between 56.69 and 58.39 million VND. In comparison, the NVX V2 remains competitively priced, starting at 55.3 million VND.
While Yamaha has not yet announced the official price for the NVX 155 2025 in Vietnam, sources suggest that it will remain close to the current model’s pricing to maintain its competitive edge.
