Vingroup and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Join Forces for Urban Air Quality Improvement and Green Growth
Vingroup and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) have signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in air quality management and improvement in urban areas and green growth.
Together, the two parties will work on air quality monitoring and improvement, promoting green growth and sustainable transportation, as well as developing domestic and international carbon markets.
As per the agreement, Vingroup and the MAE will collaborate across various fields with the shared goal of contributing to a greener Vietnam.
They will work together to implement an environmental monitoring system in Hanoi, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and technology developed by VinUni University for data analysis, and air quality alerts and forecasts. Additionally, Vingroup and the MAE will join forces to conduct public awareness campaigns about air pollution, raising the community’s consciousness.
The collaboration also aims to boost green growth, particularly in the fields of transportation and construction. Furthermore, Vingroup and the MAE will work together to participate in and develop domestic and international carbon markets.
The MAE, its staff, and affiliated agencies will prioritize the use of eco-friendly, electric, and green fuel vehicles, including those from VinFast, and the Xanh SM electric taxi service, to lead by example in the green transition and sustainable development.
In return, Vingroup will support the MAE, its staff, and affiliated agencies in their green transition efforts, as well as in implementing air quality monitoring and management projects in Hanoi and raising community awareness about environmental protection, especially air quality.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, shared, “Vingroup is aware of its responsibility and pioneering role in accompanying society in the green transition. We believe that the collaboration between Vingroup and the MAE will create a synergistic force, spreading positive values and contributing to Vietnam’s economy stepping firmly into the era of sustainable development.”
Mr. Le Cong Thanh, Vice Minister of MAE, stated, “Today’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is a strategic step forward, focusing on four key issues and laying the foundation for long-term cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Vingroup. This collaboration will further motivate Vingroup and the private sector to join and accompany the Government’s initiatives, creating values as we strive towards the goals of clean air quality, green growth, and sustainability.”
