Ford Vietnam has issued a recall for six Ford Territory vehicles due to a software issue with the engine control module, as announced on their website. These vehicles were manufactured at the Ford Hai Duong plant between July 4, 2024, and July 25, 2024.

According to the recall notice, the engine fault light may illuminate on the central instrument cluster in these six Ford Territory vehicles. Ford Vietnam attributes this to incompatible engine control module software, which affects compliance with Vietnam’s emission regulations.

Ford has stated that the inspection and software update process for the affected Territory vehicles will take less than half a working day. Customers can either bring their vehicles to a dealership or opt for Ford’s complimentary Mobile Service or Home Pickup and Delivery services for the repair work.

The Ford Territory, introduced in the Vietnamese market in October 2022, initially offered three variants priced at 822 million, 899 million, and 935 million VND, respectively. With the addition of the Sport variant, there are now four options available for customers. The current price range for this C-segment SUV is between 759 million and 889 million VND.

In the first quarter of the year, the Ford Territory recorded sales of 2,095 units, making it the second best-selling gasoline-powered C-segment SUV in Vietnam, surpassed only by the Mazda CX-5, which sold 3,022 units.
