Ford Territory, known as Equator Sport in China, is embarking on an expansion journey with its mid-life facelift.
Brazil is one of the first countries outside China to receive the updated Territory, with Ford expecting strong sales growth with its improved design.
The Ford Territory 2025 made its Brazilian debut at the Interlagos Festival in São Paulo. This follows impressive sales growth in the country, quadrupling in 2024 and surpassing 5,000 units. With the updated model launching next month, Ford anticipates continued momentum.
Compared to the Equator Sport in China, the Territory 2025 in Brazil features subtle exterior adjustments. The front grille sports a new chrome finish, while the dual-split headlights have been replaced. The front and rear bumpers are now body-colored instead of contrasting black. Side-on, the vehicle retains its 4,685 mm length but introduces new 19-inch alloy wheels and chrome door handles. The premium Equator Sport in China boasts 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the Ford Territory 2025 maintains its modern aesthetic with dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. New seat color options and interior trim choices offer enhanced customer diversity. Detailed specifications will be revealed upon the official launch.
Mechanically, the Brazilian model remains unchanged. It’s powered by a 1.5L EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engine producing 166 hp and 260 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD). Meanwhile, Ford has introduced a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant for the Equator Sport in China, potentially expanding powertrain options for other markets in the future.
The Ford Territory 2025 in Brazil is currently offered solely in the Titanium trim, with pricing yet to be announced. However, its predecessor is priced from 215,000 Reais, approximately 1.02 billion VND, significantly higher than the current Ford Territory pricing in Vietnam.
In addition to Brazil, the Territory 2025 is expected to enter various new markets, including Argentina, Mexico, the Philippines, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam.
In Vietnam, test mules of the updated model have been spotted recently, suggesting an imminent launch.
If introduced in Vietnam, the Territory 2025 could be a strategic offering for Ford in the competitive C-segment SUV market, currently dominated by rivals like the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, and Honda CR-V. Combining refreshed styling, familiar drivetrain options, and competitive pricing, the Territory could maintain its appeal.
