The “Swap Gas for Electricity” event facilitated a green transition for Ho Chi Minh City residents, offering an opportunity to exchange their fuel-powered bikes for VinFast’s smart and eco-friendly electric models.
Swapping gas for electricity at the event
Over the weekend of June 14-15, 2025, VinFast organized the “Swap Gas for Electricity” event in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting thousands of visitors, including students, office workers, and parents with school-aged children.
Many Ho Chi Minh City residents attended the “Swap Gas for Electricity” event to test-drive VinFast’s latest electric bike models.
The event offered more than just an exhibition; it allowed guests to experience VinFast’s electric bikes firsthand. Many attendees seized the opportunity to make the switch from gas to electricity, enticed by VinFast and the distributor’s attractive offers.
Mr. Quy Bao, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, was one such individual. He exchanged his old scooter for a VinFast Motio at the event. “I hadn’t tried an electric bike before, but after test-driving one at the event, I found it enjoyable. I’ve been using a fuel-powered bike, which costs me about 20,000 VND per day, so I decided to switch to an electric bike to eliminate this expense,” he shared.

Mr. Bao praised the VinFast Motio, comparing it to European scooters. He highlighted the comfortable seating, modern digital display, and the impressive legroom, perfect for storing backpacks or bulky items.
Another attendee, Mr. Truong Van Son, also from Ho Chi Minh City, made the green transition by exchanging his old bike for a VinFast Feliz Neo. This decision was the result of careful consideration of performance and cost factors.
“I’ve been thinking about switching to an electric bike for a while now because my old fuel-powered bike consumes a lot of fuel and emits a lot of smoke,” shared Mr. Son. “I really wanted to try an electric bike as it’s cost-effective and environmentally friendly.”

The event witnessed a high turnout for the “swap gas for electricity” program, with participants enjoying benefits of up to 1 million VND and gifts from the distributor. This amount was added directly to the trade-in value of the customers’ old bikes, making it a lucrative deal.
Mr. Van Son appreciated this initiative, acknowledging that offering higher prices for old bikes incentivizes people to make the switch to electric alternatives.
Already owning a VinFast electric bike but considering buying another
The event not only attracted first-time electric bike owners but also existing VinFast customers who were considering purchasing additional bikes due to their satisfaction with the brand.
Mr. Ton Long Hiep (Ho Chi Minh City) has been pleased with his VinFast Evo200 Lite for over two years and is now planning to add more VinFast electric bikes to his collection.
Mr. Ton Long Hiep, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, shared that his family has been using the Evo200 Lite for over two years and is highly satisfied with their experience. “I bought that bike for my child, but I often use it on weekends. In our household, electric bikes are the preferred choice, not just for cost savings but also because riding them is a delightful experience—quiet and smooth, like gliding through the wind,” Mr. Hiep recounted.
Mr. Hiep attended the event to gather information about the upcoming Evo Grand model and to test-drive the Feliz Neo, as he plans to add another electric bike to his collection. After trying out the VinFast Feliz Neo, he praised its perfect fit, easy handling, and stylish design.
Mr. Vo Thanh Nhon, who travels frequently for work, attests that his VinFast electric bike helps him save up to 700,000 VND per month.
Mr. Vo Thanh Nhon, also from Ho Chi Minh City, owns two VinFast bikes—a Motio and an Evo200. According to Mr. Nhon, these electric bikes have helped him save 600,000–700,000 VND in fuel costs every month.
“My job requires a lot of traveling, so using a fuel-powered bike used to be expensive, not just for gas but also for maintenance and repairs. I bought the Evo200 first, and since it worked out well, I recently purchased the Motio for my girlfriend. I plan to buy another electric bike for my family, which is why I attended the event,” Mr. Nhon explained.
Commenting on VinFast’s electric bike lineup, Mr. Nhon acknowledged that the prices have become much more accessible. “The Motio, priced at 12 million VND, and the Neo series, starting at 14.4 million VND, are very attractive propositions. Once people try electric bikes, they’ll grow to like them and may consider upgrading to higher-end models in the future,” he added.
Following its success in Ho Chi Minh City, the “Swap Gas for Electricity” event will make its way to Hanoi on June 21-22, offering residents a chance to experience VinFast’s latest electric bike models and enjoy exclusive event benefits.
