Semenov is known to have attended Hongqi events in both China and Dubai, which likely sparked his interest in this luxurious Chinese brand.

The vehicle acquired by the Middle Eastern businessman features a stunning two-tone exterior in turquoise and moonlight white. The interior, on the other hand, showcases a rich dark green tone with contrasting white details.

One of the most striking features of this car is the intricate traditional Chinese paintings delicately adorned on the ceiling and center armrest. This special option from Hongqi contributes to its higher export price.

Officially launched in the Chinese market in June 2024, the Hongqi Guoli is a high-end vehicle designed for senior leaders and sold under the new brand name, Golden Sunflower. This brand is exclusively dedicated to the most expensive and luxurious models in Hongqi’s product lineup.

The Hongqi Guoli succeeds the L5 and is joined by three other models—the Guoyao, Guoya, and Guoyue—all bearing the prestigious Golden Sunflower marque.

At the front, the Golden Sunflower range retains its distinctive design with an enormous vertical waterfall grille. This feature, combined with the protruding round headlights, exudes a strong sense of retro styling. According to Hongqi, this design draws inspiration from Chinese cultural traditions, embodying the concept of “round sky and square earth.” Additionally, the elongated front bonnet contributes to the car’s majestic and imposing presence.

The Hongqi emblem on the bonnet can be retracted, while the headlights are crafted from crystal blocks, showcasing the Guoli’s unique character and prestige. Notably, the emblem is tilted forward at an angle of 23.5 degrees, symbolizing the axial tilt of the Earth. This is a distinctive design element that embodies Hongqi’s philosophy.

With overall dimensions of 5,980 x 2,090 x 1,710 mm, a wheelbase of 3,730 mm, and a curb weight of 3,150 kg, the Hongqi Guoli falls into the large sedan segment. Compared to its predecessor, the Hongqi L5 Zhizun Edition 2014, it is 425 mm longer, with a 295 mm longer wheelbase, providing a more spacious and opulent experience for passengers.

Under the hood, the Hongqi Guoli is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering a maximum output of 388 horsepower and a peak torque of 530 Nm. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the car can reach a top speed of 220 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. However, its fuel consumption is on the higher side, at 15.2 liters per 100 km, necessitating an enormous 112-liter fuel tank.

This one-of-a-kind limousine is currently en route to Dubai. If you’re a resident of this vibrant city, keep your eyes peeled, as you might just catch a glimpse of this exquisite Chinese automobile on Dubai’s roads within the next month.
