The world of transportation is about to take an exciting leap forward with the introduction of the AirCar by Klein Vision. This innovative vehicle is set to become the first flying car to transition from concept to reality.

According to Carscoops, the AirCar is expected to go on sale next year, with a price tag of approximately USD 800,000, equivalent to the cost of a Lamborghini Revuelto. Compared to the concept model, the commercial AirCar boasts several improvements, including a larger windshield and vent slots in place of traditional headlights. However, the overall design retains its unique blend of a racing car aesthetic with a fighter jet-inspired style.

One of the most significant changes from the concept to the commercial version is the engine. Rather than the BMW 1.6L engine, the flying car will be powered by a gasoline engine from a different supplier, delivering an impressive 276 horsepower. Top Gear reports that a higher-end version will offer approximately 316-335 horsepower. With a dry weight of around 800 kg and a powerful engine, the AirCar can reach a top speed of 200 km/h on the road and 250 km/h in the air.

In just two minutes, the AirCar can extend its wings to a span of 8.2 meters, transforming from its compact road-going dimensions (5.8 meters). However, due to the lack of a pressurized cabin, the flying car is limited to a maximum altitude of around 3,050 meters.

Currently, the AirCar is targeted at the elite market, catering to the ultra-wealthy who desire the thrill of “flying” to work. But Klein Vision has even grander ambitions. The company forecasts that the flying car market could reach a value of USD 162 billion by 2034. Beyond selling the AirCar, Klein Vision aims to partner with taxi companies to offer a “super-uber” service for the affluent.
