According to statistics, the top five car brands in Vietnam for the first five months of 2025 are VinFast, Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, and Mitsubishi, with impressive sales figures.
Among them, VinFast stands out with a significant lead, solidifying its position as the market leader.
VinFast: 56,187 units sold
As the only domestic brand in the top five, VinFast continues to dominate the Vietnamese automotive market. With a staggering 56,187 units sold in the first five months of 2025, the brand captures nearly 42.5% of the market share.
VinFast’s growth is attributed to its expanding and diverse range of electric vehicles, including the VF 3, VF e34, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9. The VF 3 and VF 5 models, in particular, have consistently ranked among the best-selling cars in the market month after month.
So far this year, the VF 3 has been VinFast’s top-selling model, with 19,416 units delivered to customers. This is closely followed by the VF 5 with 18,752 units, and the VF 6 with 7,307 units.
Toyota: 23,061 units sold
Toyota maintains its strong position in second place, with 23,061 units sold. The brand’s strategic models, such as the Vios, Corolla Cross, and Yaris Cross, remain the top choices in the sedan and CUV/SUV segments.
In recent years, Toyota has been quick to adapt to market trends in Vietnam. The brand is not only a leader in environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles but also a pioneer in introducing new segments, such as the popular small urban SUV trend.
Hyundai: 20,007 units sold
Hyundai takes third place, with cumulative sales of 20,007 units in the first five months of the year.
The Hyundai Accent is currently their best-selling model, with cumulative sales of 2,602 units. The Hyundai Tucson follows closely with 2,431 units delivered to customers.
Hyundai’s strength lies in its ability to cater to the Vietnamese market with competitive pricing and a wide network of dealerships. However, the brand faces significant competition from Ford and Mitsubishi, which offer strong alternatives in the same segment.
Ford: 17,533 units sold
Ford Vietnam has sold a total of 17,533 units in the first five months of 2025, securing fourth place in the rankings.
The Ford Ranger, affectionately known as the “king of pickup trucks,” leads the charge with sales of 6,382 units over the last ten months. It is also Ford’s top-selling model in Vietnam.
The Territory and Everest models also contribute significantly to Ford’s performance, with sales of 4,521 and 4,012 units, respectively.
Ford continues to focus on its strengths in SUVs and crossovers, while also enhancing safety technologies across its strategic models. This positioning reinforces its image as a practical and versatile brand for families and off-road enthusiasts.

Mitsubishi: 12,130 units sold
Mitsubishi rounds out the top five with 12,130 units sold in the first five months of 2025. This achievement is largely due to the popularity of their MPV, the Xpander, which has consistently topped its segment for several months.
Other models, such as the Xforce and Triton, are also gaining traction among Vietnamese customers thanks to their sporty designs, fuel efficiency, and reasonable maintenance costs.
With a focus on family-oriented and urban SUV segments, competitive pricing, and attractive promotions, Mitsubishi is solidifying its position in the Vietnamese market.
