In 2009, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam introduced the most powerful S-Class in their lineup, the S63 AMG. Dubbed as the three-pointed star brand’s four-door supercar, this model is now extremely affordable 16 years later.
Specifically, a 2009 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is currently on offer for just VND 500 million, equivalent to the price of a new Hyundai Accent. With over 68,000 miles on the clock, or 109,435 kilometers, this mileage is acceptable for a 16-year-old Mercedes.
This particular S63 AMG, which was abandoned by its owner on the streets of Hanoi years ago, belongs to the fifth generation of the model. When it was first introduced in Vietnam in 2009, it carried a price tag of over VND 7 billion, a hefty sum for a luxury car in the S-shaped country back then.
The S63 AMG was packed with cutting-edge features, including night vision, customizable ambient lighting, massage seats, a rear-seat refrigerator, and 20-inch AMG-designed alloy wheels, an upgrade from the standard 19-inch wheels.
The center LCD screen offered a Split View function, allowing the driver and front passenger to view different content simultaneously. A 6-disc CD/DVD changer was connected to a Harman/Kardon Logic 7 audio system with 14 speakers and a 600-watt subwoofer.
Other features included a panoramic sunroof, premium Passion leather upholstery, a heated and cooled AMG-designed steering wheel, and a large shift paddle on the steering wheel. The S63 AMG also featured ABC body control to isolate the chassis and floor from road forces.
The fifth-generation Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine, handcrafted by AMG, with the philosophy of “one man, one engine.” This engine produces a maximum output of 525 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque.
With this powerhouse, the high-performance luxury sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
