In late 2024, TMT Motors announced their plans to bring the Baojun E100, a small two-seater electric car, to Vietnam. However, on June 16, 2025, TMT Motors confirmed on their website that they would be temporarily halting the launch of this vehicle to seek a better solution.
The solution that TMT Motors referred to is a new two-seater electric car called the Nano S05. This is the same vehicle that TMT Motors registered the industrial design for back in February of this year.
TMT Motors registered the industrial design for the Nano S05 back in February of this year.
According to TMT Motors, the Nano S05 has dimensions of 2,400 mm in length, 1,380 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height. This makes the Nano S05 even smaller than the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, which TMT Motors currently assembles and officially distributes in Vietnam.
From the images released by TMT Motors, the Nano S05 showcases a minimalist 3-door design. This electric car features a short front end with two thin horizontal light bars wrapping around the brand logo. Below this is a black panel that creates a striking contrast with the body of the vehicle.
TMT Motors postpones the launch of the Baojun E100, opting for the affordable two-seater electric car Nano S05 instead.
TMT Motors states that the Nano S05 supports the CCS2 fast-charging standard, offering flexible charging times and a range of 120-150 km on a single charge. Users can charge the vehicle at home or at public charging stations. Additionally, the Nano S05’s battery can be removed and charged using a standard household electrical outlet, making it convenient for apartment dwellers.
With its compact size, the Nano S05 is positioned as an ideal mode of transport for narrow streets, crowded residential areas, and limited parking spaces. While the exact price has not yet been disclosed, TMT Motors assures that the Nano S05 will be more affordable than premium scooters in the Vietnamese market. Furthermore, the daily electricity cost to operate the Nano S05 is expected to be just one-third of that of a motorcycle.
TMT Motors confirms that the Nano S05 will be manufactured and assembled in their Vietnam-based factory. The official launch of this innovative electric car is anticipated to take place in the fourth quarter of 2025.
