The US-based startup, Infinite Machine, has recently unveiled its unique electric motorcycle-bicycle hybrid, named Olto, with a starting price of $3,495.
The Olto boasts a minimalist yet practical design. Its square frame, neatly tucked away wires, and hidden suspension system create a sleek and elegant look. A standout feature is the elongated seat, comfortably accommodating two riders, with a small storage compartment underneath and a helmet hook, optimizing daily functionality. Additionally, rear cargo racks can be attached, catering to personal mobility and light urban delivery needs.
Powered by an electric motor and a 48V – 25Ah battery with a total capacity of 1.2kWh, Olto offers a maximum range of 64km on a full charge. The removable battery can be conveniently charged at home or in the office, taking an hour to reach 50% and three hours for a full charge. An optional 9kg spare battery is available for extended range.
One of Olto’s notable attributes is its legal operation in the US without a driver’s license or insurance. In standard mode, it has a top speed of 32km/h, suitable for bicycle lanes. Switching to off-road mode unlocks speeds up to 53km/h, offering flexibility for various scenarios outside urban areas. This presents a significant advantage as many cities are restricting gasoline vehicles and promoting small electric alternatives.
Beyond its versatile performance, Olto integrates a host of smart and modern technologies. Its anti-theft system includes GPS tracking, LTE connectivity, an Apple AirTag slot, and electronic locks for the engine, rear wheel, and physical handlebar. Notably, the security system remains operational even when the main battery is removed, thanks to a dedicated backup power source.
For added convenience, the vehicle offers Bluetooth and NFC unlocking, along with access-sharing via a smartphone app. It also features a USB charging port, LED daytime running lights, and full headlamp and turn signal assemblies, ensuring both safety and comfort during urban rides, day or night.
Infinite Machine positions Olto as a unique offering between premium electric bicycles and conventional electric motorcycles, targeting young, urban customers seeking personalized transportation options. With its compact design, advanced technology, and accessible price point, Olto is poised to make a significant impact in the urban mobility segment.
Currently, Olto is available for pre-order, with deliveries expected to commence in the fall of 2025.
