When it comes to pre-owned Porsche 911s in the current market, many would immediately think of the 992, with its abundant supply. The 991 is also quite rare, and the 997 is even more elusive, with only one traded example that has since been sold.

According to our research, the number of Porsche 911 997s traded in the market is very limited, if not unique. Soon after it was listed for sale, a Hanoi-based collector spent billions of Dong to acquire it. The car has recently completed the ownership transfer process and now bears a new license plate.

The 997 model is an evolution of its predecessor, the 996, but it introduces significant changes, most notably in its interior and exterior design. The most striking alteration is the replacement of the “fried egg” headlights used on the 996 with the classic “bug eye” lights, characteristic of this series.

Additionally, the turn signals are now separate from the headlights and are elongated, creating an intriguing front end for the Porsche 911 997. The front air dam is divided into three distinct parts, and the two side air dams feature a horizontal bar that bisects them. The Porsche 911 997 also comes standard with larger 18-inch wheels.

The wheel arches are flared compared to the body design, giving the Porsche 911 997 a more “sexy” appearance. At the rear, the taillights are horizontal but not connected, and they are also quite large. In later models, like the 991, the taillights become more pointed.

The Porsche 911 997 featured here has dual exhaust pipes and two red “bumps” protruding on either side of the license plate, indicating that it was likely imported from the US. These protrusions are mandatory on sports cars and supercars to ensure technical safety. The Porsche 911 997 series offers a range of models, including the Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa, Club Coupe limited to 50 units, Turbo, GT3, and GT2.

Depending on the specific model, the engine specifications vary. For instance, the Porsche 911 997 Carrera, Carrera 4, and Targa 4 are equipped with a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 321 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and a peak torque of 370 Nm at 4,250 rpm.

On the other hand, the Porsche 911 997 Carrera S, Carrera 4S, and Targa 4S feature a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine, producing between 355 and 376 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and delivering a maximum torque of 400 to 415 Nm at 4,600 rpm.
