Every August, the Monterey Auto Week becomes a stage for automakers to unveil extremely limited and expensive cars, and this year, Lamborghini is expected to present something particularly impressive.
According to recent reports, the Italian brand is preparing to launch a special car possibly named the Fenomeno.
The launch event is expected to take place at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. While Lamborghini hasn’t publicly confirmed details about this car, rumors started circulating when the company registered the Fenomeno trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office earlier this spring.
This special model is likely based on the Lamborghini Revuelto. It’s unclear what changes have been made to the car’s 6.5-liter hybrid V12 powertrain, but the Fenomeno is rumored to become the most powerful Lamborghini ever, surpassing the 1,001 horsepower of the Revuelto supercar.
Select Lamborghini customers have been given a preview of the new model, and one of them hinted that it was inspired by one of Sant’ Agata’s most iconic cars, leading many to speculate about the Miura, as the Countach already has a successor.
Only 29 units of the Lamborghini Fenomeno are rumored to be produced. In addition to its extraordinary power, it’s certain to carry a price tag well above $1 million.
