Proven Performance from the Race Track

Bridgestone is proud to be the official tire supplier for leading teams at the AUTOBACS SUPER GT, including the reigning champion, TGR TEAM au TOM’S. Accompanying these teams, the high-performance POTENZA tires showcase the technological capabilities and durability that have been proven under the most demanding conditions of the GT race.

One of the prominent technologies integrated into the tire development is ULTIMAT EYETM – an advanced simulation system that accurately analyzes the contact area between the tire and the road at high speeds, utilizing sensor data and practical kinematic images. This technology plays a crucial role in the development phase of most PSR tires, optimizing their structure, tread design, traction on slippery roads, and overall tire performance.

Bridgestone consistently demonstrates the superior performance of its Potenza Racing Tires in the Super GT races.

At the GR86 Cup Malaysia, Bridgestone is the exclusive tire partner for a platform that showcases new talents in the speed sports community. Bringing together both promising young drivers and seasoned veterans, the race also serves as an opportunity for Bridgestone to introduce the exceptional performance of the POTENZA RE-71RS tires. Embodied by the philosophy, “From Circuit to Street,” these tires bring racing technology closer to speed enthusiasts. With their stable performance, superior control, and traction, the POTENZA RE-71RS tires empower both professional and amateur drivers to confidently push their limits.

Sports Car Racing as a “Mobile Laboratory” for Tire Technology

Bridgestone approaches motorsports with a long-term strategy, partnering with global racing events as an integral part of its journey to innovate tire technology. Races such as the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup in Japan, the SUPER GT, Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC), and the NTT INDYCAR® Series in North America, are platforms where the company continuously optimizes and perfects its high-performance tires and new technologies, especially the POTENZA line, which is widely applied in both sports and civilian car segments in Vietnam.

“Bridgestone continuously enhances tire performance by analyzing real-world operating conditions and feedback from racers in various competitions, while ensuring safety and peace of mind, rooted in the core philosophy, ‘Tyres carry life,’ in our tire development process,” said Seigo Hata, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Motorsports, Asia Pacific, India, and China (BSAPIC). “For Bridgestone, motorsports are not just about the race but about testing and driving technological innovation. The demanding conditions on the race track inspire us to develop advanced and sustainable tire technologies, shaping the future of mobility. Through close collaboration with society, partners, and customers, we are committed to building a more sustainable future, in line with the spirit of Bridgestone’s ‘Passion to Turn the World®.'”

Bridgestone approaches motorsports as a “mobile laboratory,” where all data from actual race tracks are meticulously analyzed to develop replacement tires for automobiles and motorcycles. The philosophy, “From Circuit to Street,” guides Bridgestone to ensure that all technological improvements are proven under the most demanding conditions before being applied to global mainstream tires, optimizing operational performance and enhancing safety for users.

Optimal Safety from the Most Rigorous Tests

In Vietnam, where traffic conditions vary from crowded city streets to slippery highways during the rainy season, the improvements tested in the harsh racing environment have become a key advantage for Bridgestone to provide reliable tire solutions for daily journeys.

“The real value of tire technology lies not only in speed or race records but in serving millions of users daily,” said Naoki Inutsuka, General Director of Bridgestone Vietnam. “All enhancements, from stability in high-speed steering to traction on slippery roads, are developed to suit the actual operating environment. This is the spirit of the ‘From Circuit to Street’ philosophy and Bridgestone’s commitment in Vietnam: to deliver rigorously tested products for safer and more fulfilling journeys.”

Bridgestone’s presence at Sepang also underscores the company’s commitment to the value of “Emotion (Excitement) – Dedicated to igniting excitement and spreading joy in the world of mobility,” as outlined in its global sustainability business strategy, “Bridgestone E8 Commitment.” *3
