A Bentley Mulsanne, a luxurious and exclusive car, recently made headlines in Hanoi, Vietnam, as it was reportedly abandoned in a parking lot. This sparked curiosity among locals, who wondered why the owner would neglect such an expensive vehicle. Speculations arose, ranging from mechanical issues to the car bearing diplomatic plates with expired registration, leading to tax complications.
Sadly, this isn’t an isolated incident involving a neglected Bentley. Previously, similar cases have been reported, with these luxury vehicles found in parking lots, apartment garages, and even on sidewalks, covered in dust and some even damaged, evoking sympathy from onlookers.
One particular case that stands out is a Bentley Continental Flying Spur spotted on a sidewalk, shocking car enthusiasts. The front bumper had fallen off, and wooden blocks were propping up the vehicle to prevent the undercarriage from scraping the ground. The car’s exterior was in a state of severe disrepair, resembling a pile of scrap metal.
Similarly, a white Bentley Continental GTC, found in a violation parking lot in Bo De, presented a sorry sight. Over time, its exterior had deteriorated, and the right headlight had become waterlogged, resulting in rust and damage to the headlight assembly.
Adding to the neglect, the front bumper and grille of the Continental GTC were covered in green algae, giving the once-luxurious car an unsightly appearance. It is unknown whether the fabric roof of this convertible has suffered any damage from prolonged exposure to the elements.
When the Bentley Continental GTC was first imported to Vietnam in 2008, it caused a sensation in the local car enthusiast community. At the time, the car was estimated to be worth around 430,000 USD. Its fabric roof could be opened or closed in just 15 to 17 seconds.
This particular model is a high-performance luxury convertible, powered by a W12 engine (a 12-cylinder engine with cylinders arranged in a W configuration) with a displacement of 6.0 liters. It delivers an impressive 552 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm.
Additionally, there have been sightings of other Bentley models, such as the Continental Flying Spur Speed, left to gather dust in underground parking lots, a sad fate for these once-prestigious vehicles.
