On June 29, 2025, VinFast officially inaugurated its Ha Tinh electric vehicle manufacturing factory in the Vung Ang Economic Zone. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and other leaders and former leaders of the Government and Ha Tinh province.

The delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the VinFast Ha Tinh electric vehicle factory.

The Vung Ang electric vehicle factory is the second manufacturing base to officially commence operations and the fifth factory in VinFast’s global network. Remarkably, the construction and installation of the factory, including the workshop and machinery, were completed in less than seven months.

The VinFast Ha Tinh electric vehicle factory in the Vung Ang Economic Zone started operations within seven months of project initiation, spanning an area of 360,000 square meters with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

The factory covers a total area of 360,000 square meters, encompassing key functional areas such as the Body Welding Workshop, Paint Workshop, Assembly Workshop, Logistics Warehouse, and Quality Inspection Center. Additionally, a supporting factory cluster spanning 240,000 square meters is under construction and will continue to expand in the coming years.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung was impressed during his visit to the assembly line at the VinFast Ha Tinh electric vehicle factory.

The Body Welding Workshop is equipped with a highly automated robot welding system from leading global brands such as ABB, KUKA, and FANUC.

The Paint Workshop employs modern technology and a high level of automation.

VinFast Ha Tinh is equipped with one of the most modern production lines in Southeast Asia, featuring a high level of automation and advanced technology from top global partners like ABB, DÜRR, FANUC, and SIEMENS. The entire production process strictly adheres to international standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), and IATF 16949 (Automotive Quality Management System).

In the initial phase, the factory is designed with a capacity of approximately 200,000 vehicles per year, equivalent to an average output of 35 cars per hour. The factory will be expanded in the future to meet market demands.

During this initial phase, to optimize the production line, the VinFast Ha Tinh factory will focus on small urban electric vehicles such as the VF 3, Minio Green, EC Van, and several new models in the development pipeline. The factory’s products will not only serve the domestic market but also target exports to international markets.

The factory is expected to generate approximately 6,000 direct jobs in the first phase and can expand its workforce to 15,000 people in the future, contributing to local employment and social security. Moreover, the presence of VinFast Ha Tinh will attract partner enterprises to establish factories in the industrial park, forming a synchronized supply chain and aiming to achieve over 80% localization for electric vehicles by 2026.

The factory is expected to create about 6,000 direct jobs in the initial phase and potentially expand its workforce to 15,000 people in the future, contributing to local employment and social welfare.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee of Ha Tinh, congratulated and highly appreciated the role and contribution of the VinFast Ha Tinh factory to the local economic development and social stability. “Today’s inauguration of the VinFast electric vehicle factory affirms the strategic vision of Vingroup in developing the smart electric vehicle brand, particularly, and the maturity of Vietnamese enterprises, in general, in the era of green industry and digital transformation. This is not only a miracle in terms of progress but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of ‘thinking big, acting fast, and doing it right,’ reflecting the strong determination of Vingroup,” affirmed the Chairman of Ha Tinh People’s Committee.

Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Ha Tinh People’s Committee, highly appreciated the project’s progress and Vingroup’s contribution to the local economy.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, shared: “The inauguration of the VinFast Ha Tinh factory marks a significant milestone in VinFast’s long-term development strategy and global production expansion. With the commencement of operations, the VinFast Ha Tinh factory will contribute to our goal of producing 1 million vehicles per year to meet the growing demands of domestic and overseas markets. This also showcases VinFast’s capability in technology mastery, autonomous production, and visionary leadership in promoting sustainable transportation in Vietnam and worldwide.”

Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, delivered a speech at the event.

In the first five months of 2025, VinFast emerged as the leading automotive brand in Vietnam, with over 56,000 vehicles sold. Among them, the VF 3, VF 5, and VF 6 models were the best-selling in the market. VinFast electric vehicles are also available in several international markets, including the Philippines and Indonesia.

Currently, VinFast has five factories under development in Vietnam, the US, India, and Indonesia. Two factories in Vietnam, VinFast Hai Phong, and VinFast Ha Tinh, are already operational. The factories in India and Indonesia are expected to be inaugurated soon to cater to strategic international markets.
