The Bentley Mulsanne is an iconic luxury car, and the Le Mans Edition adds an extra layer of exclusivity and performance. In the Vietnamese market, there is only one such vehicle, named after the Mulsanne Straight of the Le Mans race track where Bentley has achieved numerous historical milestones.
This rare Bentley Mulsanne Le Mans Edition has been up for sale several times since 2022, with its price recently dropping to below 8 billion VND. This has sparked curiosity among car enthusiasts, who wonder if a collector will snap it up or if it will continue to be resold after only a few years or even months of ownership.
The one-of-a-kind Bentley Mulsanne Le Mans Edition resurfaces on the used car market. How long until it finds a permanent home?
Let’s go back in time to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2013, where Bentley unveiled the Mulsanne Le Mans Edition to commemorate 90 years of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. Interestingly, this edition was originally intended for the North American market, but its appeal extended beyond, and vehicle number 22/48 made its way to Vietnam discreetly.
The Bentley Mulsanne Le Mans Edition is a limited-edition model, and Bentley seems to have focused primarily on enhancing the interior, as the exterior remains largely unchanged. However, upon closer inspection, there are a few subtle differences to be found.
Firstly, the Le Mans Edition boasts a set of five-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels with a dark finish. But the most distinctive feature is at the rear of the car. To identify the Le Mans Edition, simply look at the exhaust tips. All standard Mulsanne models feature oval exhausts, while the Le Mans Edition sports a unique dual exhaust design with a serrated shape.
Step inside the Le Mans Edition, and you’ll find “Le Mans Edition” illuminated on the door sill, contrast stitching on the diamond-quilted seats, and the same logo with a racing car image embroidered on the headrests in white thread. Additionally, the limited-edition vehicle features a unique Le Mans-themed instrument cluster and auxiliary gauges, along with a wooden veneer on the center console bearing the individual car’s serial number—in this case, 22/48, a beautiful and meaningful number suggesting permanence.
The Bentley Mulsanne Le Mans Edition in Vietnam has dark-colored seats and is a five-seater, although the middle seat in the rear is more suitable for children as it may be less comfortable for adults. If there are only two passengers, the armrest can be lowered for added convenience.
Under the hood, the Bentley Mulsanne Le Mans Edition is powered by a 6.75-liter V8 engine with twin turbochargers, delivering an impressive 505 horsepower and a massive 1,020 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF, enabling the luxury sedan to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds and reach a top speed of approximately 296 km/h.
