BYD officially introduces the all-electric urban SUV, the BYD ATTO 2, to the Vietnamese market.
The vehicle boasts a compact, agile design and incorporates many of BYD’s advanced technologies, such as the breakthrough Blade Battery, modern Cell-to-Body technology, and superior intelligent equipment. The BYD ATTO 2 is poised to become the ideal choice for urban customers seeking a trendy, accessible, and safe electric SUV.
Impressive Compact Design
The BYD ATTO 2 embodies the distinctive SUV style within a compact body. Its overall dimensions measure 4,310 x 1,830 x 1,675 mm (length x width x height) – 145 mm shorter and 45 mm narrower than the BYD ATTO 3. With a wheelbase of 2,620 mm, the ATTO 2 optimizes interior space, shortens front and rear overhangs, enhances off-road capability, and projects a robust SUV image.
The front of the vehicle features a striking full-LED headlamp cluster with a slim DRL strip, complemented by a bright grille for a powerful visual impression. The angular front bumper incorporates bright accents and vertical air intakes on both sides to enhance aerodynamics.
The side profile showcases dark plastic cladding with bright accents, creating a sense of height while maintaining a dynamic appearance. The roofline creates a “floating” effect with dark-colored pillars. Distinctive character lines, along with 16-inch alloy wheels, convey a sense of movement and energy.
The rear of the vehicle sports a large spoiler, a full-width LED light bar, and distinctive “lucky ring” taillights with an infinity symbol, symbolizing abundance and good fortune. The rear bumper has a blocky design with bright accents, adding a touch of modern sportiness.
In the Vietnamese market, the BYD ATTO 2 is offered in four exterior color options: Ski White, Harbour Grey, Breeze Green, and Petal Pink. All color choices come with a two-tone interior: White – Black or Red – Grey (exclusive to the Petal Pink exterior color).
Minimalist and Modern Interior
Inside, the BYD ATTO 2 blends modern geometric styling with premium materials and an intuitive layout. The dashboard draws inspiration from the exterior design, featuring clean and refined lines. The centerpiece is a 12.8-inch touchscreen that can rotate 90 degrees and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, along with Vietnamese voice commands.
All major touchpoints, including the center console and door handles, are wrapped in soft leather for a comfortable feel. The center armrest incorporates two cup holders and a storage compartment underneath. The diamond-cut inspired gear selector is surrounded by physical buttons for essential functions, volume control, and drive mode selection.
The rear seat offers exceptional comfort with a completely flat floor, made possible by the e-Platform 3.0 combined with CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology. The luggage compartment provides a generous 400 liters of space, expandable to 1,320 liters with the rear seats folded down.
Blade Battery and CTB Technology
The BYD ATTO 2 fully utilizes the potential of the exclusive e-Platform 3.0 for electric vehicles and the renowned Blade Battery technology. It is the first urban SUV from BYD to employ the CTB structure, integrating the battery directly into the vehicle’s frame, with the top of the battery pack serving as the floor – enhancing body rigidity and optimizing space.
The Blade Battery utilizes LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) material, free from Cobalt and Nickel, offering superior safety, durability, and higher efficiency compared to traditional Lithium-ion batteries. It also performs well in high temperatures and exhibits minimal capacity loss over multiple charge-discharge cycles.
The Blade Battery structure meets exceptionally high safety standards, passing the stringent penetration test for thermal stability after severe collisions.
Powerful and Agile Electric Motor
The BYD ATTO 2 is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor that delivers 130 kW (equivalent to 174 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 290 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds, providing agile performance in urban environments.
The energy source for the motor is a 45.12 kWh battery pack, enabling a range of 380 km (NEDC) on a single charge. The ATTO 2 supports both AC and DC charging, offering users flexibility in their charging options.
