The highly anticipated mid-life upgrade of the Hyundai Stargazer is set to make its official debut at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, opening on July 24. Ahead of its launch, this small MPV has been spotted on the streets of Indonesia, completely undisguised.

True to the teaser images previously released by Hyundai, the new Stargazer showcases significant design changes. It now sports a more refined ‘H’-shaped headlamp cluster, creating a cohesive look with the rear lights. The taillights themselves have been refreshed and are connected by a high-set LED strip.

Additionally, the 2026 model boasts a redesigned grille with rectangular patterns, a bolder silver-accented front bumper, new vertical air intakes, and a flatter hood.

As expected, the side profile remains unchanged, except for the wheels. Meanwhile, the rear bumper adopts a more robust design, and the tailgate has been upgraded.

Unfortunately, images of the 2026 Stargazer’s interior have not been revealed yet. However, a comprehensive upgrade to the cabin is expected. There are speculations that the MPV might adopt a similar dashboard design as seen in the facelifted Hyundai Creta.

Details about the powertrain remain a mystery, but it is likely that the current engine will be carried over. If so, the Stargazer will continue to be powered by a 1.5L Smartstream four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering 113 horsepower.

Dimensions are also expected to remain unchanged, with a length of 4,460 mm, a width of 1,780 mm, a height of 1,690 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,780 mm.

It is unclear if Hyundai will introduce any updates to the Stargazer X, the SUV-inspired version of the MPV with a higher ground clearance and sportier aesthetics, launched in August 2023.

Following its debut in Indonesia, the Stargazer is expected to make its way to other Southeast Asian markets, including Vietnam and Thailand.
