Bentley unveils the EXP 15 concept, previewing its first electric model slated for a 2026 launch.
The EXP 15 is more than just a concept car; it showcases Bentley’s new design and technology direction as the brand embarks on its electrification journey.
The Bentley EXP 15 concept features a radical design, blending coupe, sedan, and crossover styling. This unique combination is a departure from the brand’s traditional models. The body structure is also distinctive, featuring one driver-side door and two passenger-side doors.
With an overall length of over 5,000 mm, the EXP 15 is slightly smaller than the Bentley Flying Spur, but its overall style is more modern and eye-catching. While the production model will undergo refinements, the concept clearly showcases Bentley’s future design language: bold sculpting, minimal chrome accents, and the use of light effects and bold shapes.
The front of the EXP 15 is a testament to Bentley’s evolution, featuring a “closed” grille with an LED pattern that mimics the traditional grille, serving as both an iconic design element and a nod to its pure electric nature.
The new “Winged B” logo also makes its debut on the EXP 15, accompanied by a glowing bonnet emblem. This is the first time Bentley has introduced a new logo in over a century, and the EXP 15 is the first vehicle to publicly bear this new insignia.
In terms of interior design, the EXP 15’s cabin showcases Bentley’s future design philosophy, blending technology with personalization. The car features a three-seat layout, with the front passenger seat offering three customizable modes: standard, relax, and “companion,” allowing it to slide closer to the driver’s seat.
Notably, the EXP 15 does away with the traditional left-hand front passenger seat, instead offering a dedicated space for luggage or even a pet area, emphasizing Bentley’s focus on personalization.
The steering wheel is designed with a contemporary art style, and the full-width digital dashboard can be hidden when not in use. The car also features a mechanical display that uses illuminated moving parts to indicate the vehicle’s status.
The EXP 15 not only prioritizes design but also incorporates a host of luxury amenities. The rear compartment is separated by a center console that houses a screen, lighting, and a mini-fridge. Additionally, the rear cargo area can transform into a picnic space, complete with a sliding seat, lighting, and a cooler.
Bentley confirms that the EXP 15 will be developed on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, featuring all-wheel drive and rapid charging technology. While official specifications have not been released, the brand assures that the upcoming EV will offer a long range and performance befitting the Bentley name.
Although it will share a technical platform with the Porsche Cayenne Electric within the same parent group, Bentley assures that its first EV will maintain a distinct design language, heavily inspired by the EXP 15 concept.
