Isuzu D-Max EV Now Available for Pre-Orders: All-Electric Pickup Truck with Impressive Performance

The first deliveries of this exciting electric vehicle are expected to reach customers by February 2026. The D-Max EV is Isuzu’s first all-electric pickup truck, initially introduced in April this year, and targeted at the European market.

In the European market, the Isuzu D-Max EV starts at a price of £59,995 (approximately 2.1 billion VND), excluding VAT. This price point is significantly higher than the standard diesel engine version, which is priced at £27,755 (approximately 980 million VND). Even when comparing equivalent versions, the price difference is substantial. For instance, the D-Max EV double cabin DL40 is priced at £60,995 (around 2.15 billion VND), whereas the diesel DL40 is only £36,755 (1.3 billion VND).

In terms of design, the electric version of the D-Max doesn’t stray far from its internal combustion engine counterparts. It features some distinctive elements, such as EV badging, blue accents, and the absence of an exhaust pipe. The charging port is conveniently located where a fuel filler cap would typically be, making it familiar and accessible to users.

The D-Max EV’s chassis is developed from the current D-Max platform, but the rear suspension has been switched to a De-Dion setup instead of traditional leaf springs, providing a smoother ride for passengers.

Under the hood, the Isuzu D-Max EV is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of 188 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque. This represents a 27 horsepower increase over the diesel version, although the torque is slightly lower. The electric motors are paired with a four-wheel-drive system, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 129 km/h.

The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 66.9 kWh and offers a range of 263 km on the WLTP cycle. While this range is suitable for medium-sized pickup trucks, it falls short when compared to many electric passenger vehicles. The D-Max EV supports fast DC charging at a maximum power of 50 kW, allowing for a relatively quick recharge from 20-80% in about an hour.
