The Vietnamese market has witnessed the arrival of numerous new models across various price segments in the first half of the year. As we move into the latter part of the second quarter, more new entrants are being unveiled, promising exciting competition in different segments.
Here’s a look at some of the newcomers expected to hit the Vietnamese market in the remaining two quarters of the year:
Suzuki Swift
Suzuki dealers in Vietnam have started taking reservations for the hatchback Swift, ahead of its launch in late June. After a year-long hiatus, the Swift will make a comeback to compete with the scarce remaining rivals in its segment, such as the Mazda2 Sport and BYD Dolphin.
According to dealer sources, the new-generation Suzuki Swift will be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder inline engine, delivering a maximum output of 83 horsepower and a peak torque of 112 Nm. The Smart Hybrid system includes a 2.9 horsepower ISG motor, enabling the car to achieve a fuel efficiency of approximately 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

The pricing for the new Swift remains undisclosed. Its predecessor was sold at 560 million VND (around $24,000), imported from Thailand. However, with the new model being imported directly from Japan, the 2025 Swift’s price is expected to increase significantly.
Skoda Slavia
The Skoda Slavia is likely to be the next model introduced by the Czech carmaker in Vietnam. Notably, it is one of the first two Skoda models to be assembled at the company’s plant in Quang Ninh.

The Vietnamese-spec model is anticipated to be equipped with a 1.0L TSI 3-cylinder engine, generating 115 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. According to multiple sources, the car may feature a 10-inch central infotainment screen, a 6-speaker audio system, and a sunroof.
Since late April, Skoda dealers have been taking reservations for this B-segment sedan, with expected pricing below 500 million VND (around $21,500).
Skoda Kushaq
In addition to the Slavia, Skoda is bringing the Kushaq SUV to the Vietnamese market in the last two quarters of the year. Local assembly of this B-segment SUV is intended to enhance its price competitiveness.
The Kushaq was first introduced to Vietnamese audiences at the VMS 2024, boasting dimensions of 4,221 x 1,760 x 1,612 mm and a wheelbase of 2,651 mm, outdoing its rivals in the segment, including the Mitsubishi Xforce, Toyota Yaris Cross, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.

In India, the Kushaq is offered with two gasoline engine options: a 1.0L and a 1.5L, producing 113 and 148 horsepower, respectively. The former is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the latter comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Geely Monjaro
Following the launch of the Coolray, Geely is introducing two more SUVs to the Vietnamese market, with an early sales promise. The Monjaro is positioned in the D-segment SUV category and is expected to compete against the Ford Everest, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Mazda CX-8.
In terms of dimensions, the Monjaro is smaller than most of its segment rivals, measuring 4,770 x 1,895 x 1,689 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm.

If it follows the specifications of its Chinese counterpart, the Geely Monjaro will be equipped with a 2.0L Turbo gasoline engine, delivering 234 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Nm. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
The pricing for the Monjaro has not been disclosed yet. As the Geely plant in Vietnam is not operational yet, the Monjaro will be imported from China, which may result in a less competitive price compared to locally assembled rivals.
Geely EX5
Alongside the Monjaro, Geely is also introducing the EX5 electric SUV. With dimensions of 4,615 x 1,901 x 1,670 mm and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, the EX5 is slightly smaller than its stablemates.
Unlike the other two Geely models, the EX5 is powered by an electric motor, generating 214 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 60.22 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a range of up to 430 kilometers on a single charge.

The pricing for the EX5 remains undisclosed, but according to dealer sources, it is expected to be priced similarly to the BYD Atto 3. Currently, the BYD Atto 3 is offered in two variants, with prices ranging from 766 to 886 million VND (approximately $33,000 to $38,000).
Commercial Version of DST Concept
In early June, Mitsubishi Vietnam introduced the DST Concept and announced its plans to launch the production model by the end of the year. This C-segment SUV with a 7-seat configuration has already made its presence known in markets like the Philippines and Indonesia.
The DST Concept’s exterior shares similarities with the Xforce and Xpander HEV, featuring a large honeycomb grille, a sculpted hood, and air intakes that enhance its aerodynamic performance.

According to multiple sources, the DST Concept is likely to replace the Mitsubishi Outlander. It may be powered by a 1.5L Turbo engine instead of the 2.0L unit found in the Outlander.
The SUV is expected to offer five drive modes: Normal, Tarmac, Wet, Gravel, and Mud.
While the pricing for the commercial version remains unknown, it is speculated to be slightly lower than the Outlander.
VinFast Limo Green and Minio Green
In early March, VinFast announced the official prices of its new electric vehicles, including the Limo Green, a 7-seat MPV that has garnered significant attention. Recently, real-world images of the Limo Green have surfaced, revealing its dimensions: 4,740 x 1,872 x 1,728 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.
VinFast has disclosed that the Limo Green will be equipped with an LFP battery pack, offering a maximum range of 450 kilometers on a single charge. While the company has not released detailed specifications of the powertrain, they have stated that a fast charger can charge the battery from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes.

Currently, the Limo Green is being distributed to taxi drivers through the Green and Smart Mobility Company (GSM) at a price of 749 million VND (around $32,200). According to sales consultants, the model will soon be available to individual customers, featuring some modifications in exterior and interior equipment.
In addition to the Limo Green, VinFast is also introducing the Minio Green, an ultra-compact electric SUV with dimensions of 3,090 x 1,496 x 1,625 mm and a wheelbase of 2,065 mm. It offers a 2+2 seating configuration.
The smallest VinFast model is equipped with a 20 kW electric motor, delivering 65 Nm of torque and a top speed of 80 km/h. Its 15.2 kWh battery provides a maximum range of 170 kilometers on a single charge.
