The B-segment SUV market in Vietnam is heating up with a wide range of offerings. Not only does this segment boast a large number of models, but it also includes some of the best-selling and most attention-grabbing vehicles, thanks to their competitive pricing.
In June, a number of B-segment SUVs became more affordable thanks to various incentives and promotions offered by manufacturers and dealers. The highest discounts reached up to hundreds of millions of VND.
New Entrants with Significant Discounts
The Subaru Crosstrek, which was launched at the VMS 2024 exhibition, is priced at 1.098 billion VND and 1.268 billion VND for the two available versions. Being imported from Japan, the Subaru Crosstrek is one of the most expensive options in the B-segment SUV market.
However, the manufacturer has recently offered cash incentives of up to nearly 140 million VND. Specifically, the Crosstrek 2.0 i-S EyeSight version is now available for 999 million VND, a discount of 99 million VND. The hybrid version is priced at 1.129 billion VND, a reduction of 139 million VND from the listed price.

In addition to the Crosstrek, two new entrants from Chinese automakers have joined the B-segment SUV market in Vietnam: the Omoda C5 and the Geely Coolray.
The Omoda C5 is offered in three versions, with prices ranging from 539 million to 669 million VND. The Geely Coolray, introduced earlier this year, also comes in three versions with prices ranging from 538 million to 628 million VND.
In June, the Omoda C5 Luxury version is offered at a limited discount, reducing the price from 539 million to 499 million VND. This promotional price makes the Omoda C5 Luxury more affordable than some A-segment SUVs such as the Toyota Raize and the Kia Sonet.

The Premium and Flagship versions of the Omoda C5 come with a promotion in the form of full support for registration fees. After the discount, the Omoda C5 Premium is priced at 530 million VND, while the Flagship version is offered at 602 million VND.
Geely dealers in Ho Chi Minh City are offering a 50% discount on registration fees for all versions of the Coolray purchased in June. This promotion translates to a value of 26.9 to 31.4 million VND, depending on the version.
Japanese and Korean Brands Offer Incentives
Last year, the B-segment SUV market in Vietnam witnessed a tight competition between two Japanese models: the Mitsubishi Xforce and the Toyota Yaris Cross. The Mitsubishi Xforce ultimately emerged as the winner, selling over 3,000 more units than its rival.
However, by the end of May, the Toyota Yaris Cross seemed to be gaining momentum, outpacing the Mitsubishi Xforce in sales. Both manufacturers are now offering incentives in the form of registration fee support during the summer months.

Specifically, Mitsubishi is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for all Xforce versions except for the Exceed trim. This promotion includes a fuel voucher and other genuine accessories, with a total value ranging from 45 million to 55.5 million VND.
Toyota is providing a 50% discount on registration fees for the two versions of the Yaris Cross, along with additional gifts from dealers, bringing the total value of incentives to 33-38 million VND. The larger Toyota Corolla Cross also receives a similar promotion, with total incentives amounting to 41 million VND for the gasoline version and 46 million VND for the 1.8HEV version.
The Hyundai Creta, once the best-selling B-segment SUV in Vietnam, has been facing stiff competition from new Japanese entrants like the Toyota Yaris Cross and the Mitsubishi Xforce. Hyundai recently introduced an upgraded version of the Creta, including a new N Line trim, and adjusted the pricing for the Special and High-end versions.

According to our sources, some Hyundai dealers in the southern region of Vietnam are offering incentives of 10-35 million VND for the upgraded Creta, depending on the version and dealer. One Hyundai dealer in the south also mentioned that they have a remaining pre-upgraded Creta Special version, which is currently offered with a 40 million VND discount.
In June, all seven versions of the Kia Seltos received cash incentives ranging from 30 to 55 million VND. As a result, the Korean SUV’s price now starts at 569 million VND for the 1.5L AT version and goes up to 724 million VND for the 1.5 Turbo GT-Line version.
Electric SUVs Join the Incentive Trend
In Vietnam, all electric vehicles are currently exempt from registration fees as per government policy. This means that buyers of B-segment electric SUVs, such as the VinFast VF 6, BYD Atto 3, and MG4 EV, do not have to pay any registration fees as part of their total cost of ownership.
VinFast is offering a 4% discount on the listed price of the VF 6, which translates to an incentive of 27.5 to 30 million VND, depending on the version.

MG is offering incentives for the two versions of the MG4 EV in Vietnam, including physical damage insurance worth 20 million VND, a free 7 kW charger, and free charging for 12 months at public charging stations of MG’s partners.
BYD is also offering promotions for the BYD Atto 3 purchased in June. The Dynamic version comes with gifts worth 80 million VND, while the Premium version includes gifts worth 20 million VND. All versions of the BYD Atto 3 come with a standard 6-year maintenance package worth 6 million VND.
