At Ferrari, the choice of paint color is more than just an aesthetic decision; it’s a statement of individuality and a connection to the brand’s glorious history spanning almost eight decades.

From the iconic red to the deep blues, whites, and grays, Ferrari’s color palette tells a story, with each shade evoking a chapter of its heritage, a character, or a significant moment in its illustrious racing history.

When it comes to Ferrari, one cannot forget Rosso Corsa, the famous racing red associated with the Scuderia Ferrari racing team for decades. This color was once mandated as the “national color” for Italian racing teams at international Grand Prix events before World War II.

In addition to Rosso Corsa, Ferrari introduced Rosso Scuderia, a more modern shade of red with orange undertones, often seen on their F1 cars and high-performance supercars.

Not many know that blue has also played a significant role in Ferrari’s historical journey. One of the most iconic shades is Azzurro La Plata, the color associated with two-time F1 champion Alberto Ascari. He believed this color brought him luck, and it became his signature throughout his illustrious racing career.

In the same family of blues, Azzurro Dino was chosen by racers like Niki Lauda and Clay Regazzoni. It was also the signature color of the Ferrari Dino 246 GT, a mid-engine sports car named after Enzo Ferrari’s late son. Paying homage to this model, Ferrari presented the 296 GTS Assetto Fiorano in a dual-tone of Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino at the 2024 Miami F1 Grand Prix, celebrating the brand’s 70-year journey in the US market.

For those who favor deep and mysterious blues, Blu Swaters is an option, named after Jacques Swaters, the founder of the first Ferrari dealership and the manager of the Ecurie Francorchamps racing team in Belgium. On the other hand, Blu Pozzi, a darker navy blue, pays tribute to Charles Pozzi, a French racer and official Ferrari distributor in France.

Ferrari has also used green in its racing history, notably on David Piper’s 365 P2, which won the 9 Hours of Kyalami in 1965 and 1966. Inspired by this, the Italian marque introduced Jewel Green, often paired with classic racing decals, reminiscent of the legendary cars on the 1960s racing scene.

For those who appreciate a classic style, Verde Zeltweg, inspired by the Zeltweg racetrack in Austria, or Verde Pallido, associated with Sir Stirling Moss’s 250 GTO, are excellent choices.

On the Italian flag, alongside red and green, white is the third color and an integral part of Ferrari’s design language. The Bianco Italia on the Roma Spider is crafted with four layers of paint, creating a soft and elegant lighting effect.

Additionally, Bianco Mille Miglia, a personalization option, pays homage to the Ferrari 340 MM Vignale that participated in the grueling Mille Miglia race. Bianco Cervino, inspired by the majestic Swiss mountain, offers a pure white option for those who appreciate the pristine beauty of high-altitude snow.

Keeping up with modern trends, darker colors like black and gray have gained popularity among younger clients. Ferrari presents Aluminum with racing decals and Grigio Competizione, the distinctive gray of the 812 Competizione, acclaimed for its subtle metallic effect in the sunlight.

One of the most impressive options is Nero Galaxy, a four-layer black with a 3D metallic effect, reminiscent of a starry night sky. This color showcases Ferrari’s design innovation while affirming the owner’s unique personality.

From iconic racing colors to creative personalization options, Ferrari doesn’t just build supercars; they create artistic legacies where every drop of paint has a story to tell.
