Officially introduced in April 2025, the BYD Sealion 6 marks a strategic step forward in BYD’s journey to expand its product portfolio in Vietnam. The Sealion 6 is an SUV that utilizes BYD’s DM-i Super Hybrid technology, offering a suitable transition vehicle for the Vietnamese automotive market: delivering the smooth performance of an electric car with the convenience of a gasoline engine.

Just three months later, 1,000 of these pioneering vehicles were delivered to customers, a notable achievement for a Chinese automotive brand in Vietnam.

The BYD Sealion 6 is equipped with a DM-i powertrain, featuring a 1.5L gasoline engine combined with an electric motor and Blade Battery. It offers an all-electric range of up to 100 km and an impressive fuel efficiency of just 3.3 liters per 100 km.

In parallel with the successful delivery of 1,000 Sealion 6 vehicles, BYD Vietnam and its strategic partners are actively developing the infrastructure for charging stations nationwide. As of July 2025, customer-serving charging stations are available in over 29 out of 34 provinces and cities, with nearly 700 charging ports, including both fast DC and standard AC charging options.

Starting from the 1,001st vehicle, BYD Vietnam officially set the retail price at 839 million VND for the Dynamic version and 936 million VND for the Premium version.

The BYD Sealion 6 is offered in two versions in Vietnam: Dynamic and Premium, along with three color options: Harbor Gray, Delan Black, and Arctic White.

At BYD Vietnam, all vehicles are backed by a standard warranty of 6 years (or 150,000 km, whichever comes first) for the vehicle and 8 years (or 160,000 km, whichever comes first) for the battery.
