Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) is an expert in restoring classic supercars and transforming them into modern masterpieces. Their latest project, the 273 Potenza, is a stunning custom creation inspired by the iconic Ferrari 288 GTO, but with a twist—it’s based on the Ferrari F8 Tributo.

MAT is the same team behind the impressive Lancia Stratos revival project, which also combined heritage with modern technology. While their Ferrari-based creation was introduced a few years ago, this one-of-a-kind build hasn’t received the recognition it deserves.

For many, the F8 Tributo already looked fantastic, perhaps even better than the 296 GTB that succeeded it. Remarkably, Manifattura Automobili Torino, in collaboration with ZeroACento Automobili, has managed to make the F8 even more breathtaking.

Starting with the body, it now sports all-new panels made from lightweight carbon fiber in a stunning red hue. This treatment is reminiscent of approaches taken by supercar manufacturers like Pagani and Koenigsegg.

Up front, the 273 Potenza features an entirely new look, with four square LED daytime running lights on a prominent new front bumper and a custom-designed hood with large air intakes. The star-shaped five-spoke wheels with red center locks further enhance the classic appeal.

Incredibly, the rear end might even be more stunning than the front. While the familiar F8 Tributo taillights remain, the engine cover, side sills, diffuser, and bumper have all been redesigned and crafted from dark red carbon fiber. It even sports lightweight titanium exhausts.

The interior of the Ferrari has also undergone significant changes. The most noticeable upgrade is the completely redesigned transmission, which now includes a new gear lever. The dashboard has been customized to resemble the 288 GTO’s, and it now features a unique HVAC control unit.

Performance hasn’t been overlooked either. The car’s 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has been tuned to deliver over 800 horsepower.

This power boost suits the car’s stunning design, and while one might wonder how Ferrari would handle an official 288 GTO revival, it’s hard to imagine it surpassing this creation.
