Ducati Motor Brand is in the process of transitioning to a new distributor in Vietnam. The company’s only showroom in Ho Chi Minh City has stopped taking deposits, and all displayed vehicles have been sold out.
According to several sources, Ducati is seeking a new distribution partner to replace CT-Wearnes Vietnam, who has held this role since August 2020. In the past six months, the current distributor has not imported any new vehicles into the country.
Ducati Vietnam has ceased vehicle sales. For customers who wish to place an order, the dealer will receive the information and forward it to the new distribution partner in the future.
Currently, the company’s sole showroom in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, only maintains its service workshop to serve existing customers’ maintenance and repair needs. Meanwhile, the Ducati dealership in Hanoi, the only sales point in Northern Vietnam, closed in April. A company representative stated that this decision was made due to unsatisfactory business performance, prompting a adjustment in their business model for this region.
Ducati is an illustrious Italian motorcycle brand headquartered in Bologna. The company entered the Vietnamese market in 2009. Their first showroom was located on Ton Duc Thang Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. During its operation, Ducati has gone through three distributors, with CT-Wearnes being the most recent. In addition to Ducati, this company also imported Royal Enfield vehicles but ceased distribution in September 2024.
Ducati is positioned in the premium segment, directly competing with Japanese motorcycle brands such as Honda and Yamaha. Their product range includes various styles such as classic, naked bike, sport bike, and adventure models.
The transition to a new distributor brings expectations for positive changes for Ducati in the Vietnamese market in the near future.
