Maserati is set to officially enter the Vietnamese electric vehicle market with the Grecale Folgore in the coming third quarter.
This all-electric variant of the Grecale compact CUV will be the first fully electric model from the Italian luxury car brand in Vietnam, marking a significant step towards global electrification.
Grecale Folgore will be imported directly from Italy. Maserati dealers in Vietnam have started taking reservations, but the official price has not yet been announced. This model is expected to compete directly with the Porsche Macan EV, a luxury SUV already available in the Vietnamese market, priced from 3.48 to 5.86 billion VND.
In terms of design, the Grecale Folgore doesn’t stray far from its gasoline-powered siblings, the GT, Modena, and Trofeo. It retains a stylish and sporty aesthetic, blending soft and bold lines for a dynamic yet elegant look.
The most noticeable difference between the electric and gasoline versions is the closed-grille front fascia, typical of electric vehicles, which improves aerodynamic efficiency. The front bumper has been subtly tweaked, and unique wheel designs with “Folgore” badging provide a visual distinction for the electric model.
Inside, the Grecale Folgore‘s cabin largely mirrors that of its gasoline counterparts, but with a modern and sophisticated twist. Maserati has made a noticeable shift away from the classic, mechanical style seen in models like the Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante, toward a design language that emphasizes technology and luxury.
The vehicle features a large central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a sporty steering wheel with function buttons, and a premium entertainment system. The cabin exudes a sense of sophistication and modernity, befitting a luxury electric SUV.
The Grecale Folgore is powered by two motors on each axle, delivering a combined output of 550 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque.
The electric motors work in conjunction with an all-wheel-drive system, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
Grecale Folgore is equipped with a 105 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering an impressive maximum range of 501 kilometers on a single charge, as per the WLTP test cycle. With a 150 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0-80% in just 30 minutes.
In Vietnam, the gasoline-powered Grecale is currently priced between 4.2 and 7.539 billion VND. The Folgore variant is expected to carry a slightly higher price tag, commensurate with its positioning and the advanced technology it offers. Upon its launch, the Grecale Folgore will not only expand Maserati’s product portfolio but also provide a compelling option in the burgeoning luxury electric SUV segment in Vietnam.
