The Nissan Teana is rumored to be getting a mid-life facelift. Leaked images of the sedan, produced by Dongfeng Nissan, have surfaced on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, revealing new design details.
This is seen as an important step before the car’s official launch later this year.
The updated Teana features a refined exterior that aligns with Nissan’s new electrified sedan designs. The front of the car stands out with its dark, sleek, and sharp LED headlights, complemented by an expanded grille and newly designed daytime running lights with intricate detailing.
The front bumper has also been reshaped with larger air intakes, reminiscent of the Nissan N6 and N7, adding a sporty feel while retaining the elegance expected of a D-segment sedan.
While the body retains its characteristic lines, it has been refreshed with two-tone alloy wheels on select versions, creating a striking visual contrast.
At the rear, the horizontal LED taillights are darkened and connected by a illuminated Nissan logo. The simplified rear bumper and exposed exhaust tips have been removed for a cleaner, more modern look.
Although official interior images are not yet available, rumors suggest that the 2026 Teana will feature a redesigned dashboard. Nissan is expected to introduce a digital instrument cluster and upgrade the infotainment system to keep up with the latest trends in the segment.
Under the hood, the car will continue to be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine producing 240 horsepower, paired with an Xtronic CVT automatic transmission simulating 8 gears and front-wheel drive.
Nissan may introduce a new engine option for the base model, which is expected to have an output of 142 horsepower, down from the previous 2.0L naturally aspirated engine’s 154 horsepower. The reason for this downgrade is not yet clear but could be related to emissions standards or improved fuel economy.
The 2026 Nissan Teana is set to debut in the Chinese market later this year. The current model is priced at 179,800 – 239,800 Chinese Yuan (approximately 629 – 839 million VND), positioning it as a direct competitor to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in the D-segment sedan category.
