VinFast has filed for design patent for its seven-seater electric MPV, the Limo Green, in India, in a move that is seen as part of the Vietnamese automaker’s strategy to expand its presence in one of the world’s most populous markets.

According to Rushlane, the application has been filed with the relevant authorities in India, describing the design of the Limo Green, which is targeted at transportation service customers. In Vietnam, deliveries of the Limo Green began on August 5, 2025.

VinFast’s patent application does not necessarily mean that the Limo Green will be sold in India soon. However, given the company’s global orientation, it is likely that this electric MPV will be introduced to the Indian market in the near future.

On August 4, VinFast inaugurated its third electric car assembly plant in the Sipcot Industrial Park, Thoothukudi city, Tamil Nadu, India. This is the company’s fifth global manufacturing project.

In the initial phase, VinFast will introduce two electric SUV models, the VF 6 and VF 7, to the Indian market. The Limo Green, with its SUV-MPV crossover design, could appeal to Indian consumers and offer a new option for both individual and transportation business customers.

In Vietnam, the VinFast Limo Green is priced at 749 million VND (including the battery). With a size comparable to mid-sized MPVs, this price point positions the Limo Green to compete directly with smaller MPVs such as the Mitsubishi Xpander (up to 658 million VND) and the Toyota Veloz Cross (up to 660 million VND).

The Limo Green boasts a minimalist exterior design that is simple yet modern. While not focusing on high-end aesthetic details, the overall design of the vehicle remains practical and sleek.

The vehicle features full LED lighting, including headlights, taillights, daytime running lights, and high-mounted brake lights. The headlights have an auto on/off function, optimizing illumination during low-light conditions. The Limo Green is also equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels and 235/55R18 tires.

The interior of the VinFast Limo Green continues the minimalist theme, with a simplified layout and a focus on functionality. All controls are optimized around a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, where users can operate most driving and convenience functions. The steering wheel does not have any function buttons, and the vehicle also lacks a traditional instrument cluster, reducing potential distractions while driving.

The seats are upholstered in cloth, with thick cushions for a comfortable and sturdy feel. The driver’s seat is manually adjustable in six ways, in line with the vehicle’s positioning as a mass-market offering for the general public or transportation services.

Powering the Limo Green is an electric motor that delivers 201 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. This output is nearly double that of traditional gasoline-powered competitors in the same segment, resulting in better acceleration and load capacity when carrying a full load of seven passengers.

The vehicle is equipped with a battery pack that provides a maximum range of 450 kilometers on a single charge. With a fast-charging capacity of 80 kW, the Limo Green can charge from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes.
