In early July, the listing of a Chevrolet Camaro 1SS sports car, a 2010 model, sparked interest among car enthusiasts across the country and online communities.
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS, despite being 15 years old, had only clocked 23,000 km on the odometer, which is exceptionally low. It still boasts a powerful V8 engine with a 6.2-liter displacement, and thus, it took only a few hours for the car to find its new owner.
The new owner of this Chevrolet Camaro SS 2010 is no stranger to the Vietnamese car enthusiast community, having owned several rare and exotic cars. However, they wanted to revisit the experience of owning a Chevrolet Camaro, this time with the V8 engine.
The exterior of this Chevrolet Camaro SS 2010 is finished in red, complemented by a set of dark-painted five-spoke wheels. Being the 1SS trim, it sports an aggressive and muscular look. A fixed rear spoiler serves as a focal point, and this fifth-generation Camaro is praised for striking a balance between modern styling and its signature muscular presence.
The fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro was produced from 2010 to 2015, marking a distinct generation of the iconic muscle car since its debut in 1967. Manufacturing of this generation began on March 16, 2009, after a long hiatus since the previous generation ended in 2002. It was released to the public in April 2009 as a 2010 model year vehicle.
The new Camaro was assembled at the Oshawa Car Assembly plant in Canada. The initial plan to close the plant in 2008 was averted, preserving 2,750 jobs. This new product program and the transformation of the Oshawa facility into a flexible manufacturing site required an investment of $740 million. Initially, the Camaro was offered as a coupé with five trim levels: LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS.
The fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro SS with a manual transmission is equipped with the GM LS3 V8 engine, displacing 6.162 liters and producing 426 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of torque at 4,600 rpm.
In contrast, the automatic transmission-equipped Camaro owned by a prominent individual from Binh Dinh province features a newer variant of the LS3 engine, dubbed the GM L99. This engine variant generates 400 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque at 4,300 rpm.
