According to data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), the Toyota Innova Cross maintained its leading position in the hybrid segment, selling 318 units in July 2025.

The impressive sales figure of 318 units not only solidifies the Innova Cross’s top position but also sets a new record for the year 2025. It is the highest monthly sales achieved by a hybrid model this year, although it falls short of the 466 units sold in December 2024.

Innova Cross currently offers two engine options: gasoline and hybrid. In July, the gasoline version sold 399 units. Cumulatively, from January to July 2025, Toyota sold 1,631 units of the Innova Cross hybrid and 2,531 units of the gasoline version. The hybrid model is also the most premium version, priced at over 1 billion VND.

Following the Innova Cross in the rankings are the Toyota Corolla Cross (238 units) and the Suzuki XL7 (184 units). Out of the top 3, the Innova Cross is the only model to show growth compared to the previous month, while the Corolla Cross and XL7 experienced a decline in sales.

In fourth place among the best-selling hybrid vehicles is the Honda CR-V with 141 units sold, overtaking the Toyota Camry (121 units) after lagging behind in the previous month.

Although ranked sixth, the Honda HR-V demonstrated the strongest growth in the group, with a 126% increase in sales, rising from 38 to 86 units. Closely following, the Toyota Yaris Cross in seventh place also recorded a significant growth of nearly 88%, increasing from 32 to 60 units.

In the lower sales group, the Honda Civic sold 14 units, while the Toyota Corolla Altis managed to sell 4 units. On the other hand, the Kia Sorento hybrid witnessed a nearly 50% drop in sales, selling only 6 units, possibly due to customers awaiting the launch of the new model.

The growing popularity of hybrid vehicles in Vietnam can be attributed to their fuel efficiency and the absence of charging requirements, unlike electric vehicles. This makes hybrids a convenient and economical choice for daily use, attracting many families who seek a balance between performance and practicality.
