In recent news, TC Group has announced its sales performance for July 2025, reporting a total sales figure of 3,601 Hyundai vehicles, marking a 14.2% decrease from the previous month.

Similar to the trend in June 2025, the Tucson model remained Hyundai’s best-selling car in Vietnam for July, with 508 units sold, reflecting a significant drop of 41.6%. Previously, the top-selling position was often held by the Hyundai Accent.

Taking second place in the Hyundai family in terms of sales was the Accent, with 504 sedans sold, an 8.8% decline. This shift indicates a changing preference among Vietnamese consumers, who are increasingly favoring SUVs over sedans.

Hyundai experiences a sales dip, with Accent sales falling short of 600 units in July 2025.

The third best-selling Hyundai model for July 2025 was the Creta, with 414 units sold, a slight decrease of 1.4%. Closely following was the Hyundai Santa Fe, with an impressive sales figure of 280 units, marking a substantial growth of 93.1%. Hyundai’s sales performance for July 2025 (in units)

This sales decline was not isolated to Hyundai, as members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) also experienced similar setbacks in July 2025. Various factors contributed to this downturn, including a subdued economic climate, rising bank interest rates, and tax policies. Additionally, the Prime Minister’s Directive 20/CT-TTg, which outlines a plan to restrict and eventually prohibit the use of fossil fuel vehicles in major cities, has started to influence the purchasing behavior of domestic consumers.
