The shift towards hybrid vehicles in Vietnam is becoming increasingly apparent.

The popularity of hybrid vehicles in Vietnam can be attributed to their cost-effectiveness and environmental benefits. Models such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, Yaris Cross, Innova Cross, Camry, Honda CR-V, and Suzuki XL7 Hybrid are experiencing steady sales due to their fuel efficiency and low emissions.

Among these, the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS stands out as a customer favorite. Despite the absence of official discounts, some dealerships offer promotions of up to 150 million VND (approximately $6,300), including direct price reductions and accessory packages. As a result, the actual price of the vehicle falls below 1.2 billion VND, a significant decrease from the listed price of 1.259 billion VND. However, the CR-V e:HEV RS remains one of the most expensive models in the SUV/crossover segment, even surpassing some versions of larger D-SUV/CUV vehicles such as the Ford Everest and Hyundai Santa Fe.

In August, Toyota offered generous incentives for the Corolla Cross HEV and Yaris Cross HEV, providing discounts equivalent to 50% of the registration fee, resulting in savings of 46 million VND and 38 million VND, respectively. While the highly sought-after Innova Cross HEV is not included in Toyota’s official promotions, dealerships continue to offer discounts of up to 40 million VND, reducing the effective price to around 965-975 million VND. With sales of 1,631 units in the past seven months, the Innova Cross HEV maintains its position as the best-selling hybrid vehicle in Vietnam.

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid has also gained attention by offering to cover the entire registration fee, equivalent to a cash discount of approximately 60 million VND during August. After the discount, the vehicle’s price drops to an attractive 540 million VND. The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is now a direct competitor to the Innova Cross HEV in the 7-seater hybrid market.

These promotional programs not only reduce the upfront cost of purchasing a vehicle but also make eco-friendly and fuel-efficient cars more accessible to Vietnamese consumers. It presents an opportune moment for environmentally conscious buyers to consider making the switch to hybrid vehicles, aligning with the global trend of sustainable consumption.
