Nissan Unveils Upgraded Version of the Kicks Urban SUV

The 2026 Nissan Kicks starts at $22,430 (approximately 591 million VND), excluding a delivery fee of $1,495 (39.4 million VND). This price represents an increase of $705 (18.5 million VND) compared to its predecessor.

This upgrade focuses on enhancing the interior features while retaining the exterior design. Specifically, the Nissan Kicks 2026 boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen display that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This is a significant improvement over the previous 7-inch screen that lacked navigation features. In Vietnam, the Kicks currently offers an 8-inch display.

Additionally, the standard S trim has been upgraded with two front USB-C ports, replacing the traditional USB Type-A. The SV and SR trims offer the Cold Weather package, which includes heated front seats, rear seat vents, and heated side mirrors—features that are highly useful in colder climates.

Unlike the hybrid e-Power version sold in Vietnam, the 2026 Kicks in the US sticks to a 2.0L gasoline engine that produces 141 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a Xtronic CVT transmission, and customers now have the option to choose all-wheel drive (AWD).

According to Nissan, the fuel economy figures stand at 8.4 L/100 km in the city, 6.7 L/100 km on the highway, and a combined 7.6 L/100 km. However, these figures are less impressive than the Kicks e-Power in Vietnam, which consumes just 2.2 L/100 km in the city, 6.1 L/100 km on the highway, and 4.6 L/100 km combined.

While US customers appreciate the convenience of a gasoline engine and AWD, Vietnamese consumers benefit more from the hybrid system’s exceptional fuel efficiency. This difference highlights Nissan’s varied strategies: prioritizing practicality in North America and focusing on green technology in Southeast Asia.
