Images of a peculiar-looking Mitsubishi Xpander being transported on a specialized vehicle in Vietnam have recently surfaced on social media, sparking curiosity among enthusiasts.

Based on the exterior details, it can be confirmed that this is the mid-life facelift version of the Xpander, previously launched in Indonesia and Thailand. This indicates that the 2025 Mitsubishi Xpander is likely to be officially introduced to Vietnamese consumers soon.

In Indonesia, the 2025 Mitsubishi Xpander is still equipped with a conventional gasoline engine, while in Thailand, the model is only available as a hybrid. The vehicle spotted in Vietnam lacks the hybrid logo, suggesting that it is likely the Indonesian-imported version, similar to the current Xpander AT, AT Premium, and Xpander Cross variants available in the country.

In terms of exterior design, the 2025 Xpander receives subtle refinements for a more modern appearance. The standard version features a simpler grille, improved LED fog lamps, elegant 17-inch alloy wheels, and a revised rear bumper.

The interior has also been significantly upgraded. The vehicle is equipped with an 8-inch TFT instrument cluster similar to the Mitsubishi Xforce. The standard version boasts a 7-inch infotainment screen, the mid-range an 8-inch, and the top-spec a 10-inch unit supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. In contrast, the Xpander currently sold in Vietnam offers a maximum of a 9-inch screen, while the domestic Xpander Cross surpasses the Indonesian market with a 9-inch unit instead of the 8-inch one.

Regarding safety features, the 2025 Xpander is equipped with six airbags and enhanced with a front camera as part of the 360-degree camera system. It also includes a new feature that improves stability when cornering by distributing braking force.

It is unclear if the 2025 Xpander Cross will be launched simultaneously with the standard Xpander in Vietnam. In Indonesia, the Xpander Cross sports a bolder design with an Xforce-inspired grille, dark-tinted LED headlights, sportier front and rear bumpers, two-tone alloy wheels, and full-LED lighting. The interior maintains its sporty black-and-red theme, now with synthetic leather seats and the same upgrades as the standard Xpander.

Powering both the Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross 2025 is the familiar 1.5L four-cylinder engine, producing 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission, driving the front wheels.

In Indonesia, the 2025 Xpander is priced from 270.1 million IDR (approximately 438.5 million VND), while the Xpander Cross 2025 starts at 338 million IDR (549 million VND). However, when imported to Vietnam, the pricing is expected to be higher, considering that the current base model (MT) is already priced at 560 million VND.
