The rehearsal for the parade is scheduled to take place at 6:30 am on August 30, 2025. In preparation for this rehearsal, the Hanoi Police have announced road closures for August 29-30, 2025.
The road closures will be in effect from 10 pm on August 29 to 1 pm on August 30, 2025. A previous announcement made on August 13, 2025, stated that the road closures, temporary restrictions, and vehicle limitations would be in place from 6 pm on August 29 to 3 pm the following day. The duration of the road closures has now been reduced to 15 hours instead of the initially planned 21 hours.
The following streets will be completely closed to vehicles (except for those with protective badges and those serving the anniversary event): Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Khue (from Hung Vuong to Van Cao), Mai Xuan Thuong, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, Hung Vuong, Hoang Van Thu, Doc Lap, Chua Mot Cot, Bac Son, Ton That Dam, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Dieu, Cua Bac, Yen Phu, and Thanh Nien.
In addition, the following streets will also be closed to traffic: Dien Bien Phu, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Le Hong Phong, Ong Ich Khiem, Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Chu Van An, Ton Duc Thang, Cat Linh, Trinh Hoai Duc, Hang Chao, Tran Phu, Son Tay, Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Van Cao, Nghi Tam, Doi Can, Doc La-Pho, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan, Tran Nhan Tong (from Le Duan to Quang Trung), Trang Thi, Hang Khay, Trang Tien, Co Tan, and Phan Chu Trinh (from Hai Ba Trung to Trang Tien).
Similarly, vehicles will be completely prohibited from traveling on the following routes during the specified time frames: Le Thanh Tong, Tong Dan (from Ly Dao Thanh to Trang Tien), Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Quang Trung (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Trang Thi), Ly Thai To, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen (from the State Bank Square to Trang Tien), Giang Vo, Lang Ha, and Lang (from Lang Ha to Tran Duy Hung).
Furthermore, the Hanoi Police will temporarily restrict vehicles on roads inside the Ring Road 1, except for those with protective badges, vehicles serving the anniversary event, priority vehicles, vehicles on official duty, buses, garbage trucks, and vehicles addressing emergencies.
On roads between Ring Road 1 and Ring Road 2, trucks weighing 1.5 tons or more and passenger cars with a capacity of 16 seats or more will be temporarily prohibited. This restriction will be lifted once the A80 ceremonial convoy has passed, after which vehicles can resume normal traffic.
The Hanoi Police also recommend that passenger cars with a capacity of fewer than 16 seats, private cars, and motorcycles reduce their travel on roads between Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3. Additionally, vehicles are advised to minimize their presence on roads between Ring Road 1 and Ring Road 2.
Concurrently, the Hanoi Police will restrict traffic (except for buses, garbage trucks, emergency response vehicles, vehicles with protective badges, and those serving the anniversary event) on several routes from Ring Road 3 outward to the outskirts, including National Highway 32, Cau Dien, Ho Tung Mau, Le Duc Tho, Le Quang Dao, Thang Long Boulevard, Lang Van Hoa Road, National Highway 21A, Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highway 6, Quang Trung, Tran Phu, Nguyen Trai, Provincial Road 419, Provincial Road 429, Vo Nguyen Giap, and National Highway 18.
Travel Guidance During Road Closures, Temporary Restrictions, and Limitations
During the road closures and traffic limitations, the Hanoi Police provide directional guidance for cars that are subject to temporary restrictions. Vehicles coming from National Highway 5, Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway, and Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway, heading to Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway, should use Thanh Tri Bridge – Ring Road 3 – Do Muoi Intersection – Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway.
Cars traveling from eastern provinces (Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, etc.) to northern, western, and northwestern provinces (Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, etc.) should use either Phu Dong Bridge – Thanh Tri Bridge – Ring Road 3 – Thang Long Bridge – Vo Van Kiet Street; or National Highway 5 – Nguyen Duc Thuan Street – Thanh Tri Bridge Access Road – Phu Dong Bridge – Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway – Hanoi-Thai Nguyen Expressway to Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang provinces, and vice versa.
Vehicles originating from northern provinces (Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, etc.) and heading to southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, etc.) should follow this route: National Highway 2 – Vo Van Kiet Street – Thang Long Bridge – Ring Road 3 – Do Muoi Intersection – Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway.
Trucks with a designed whole weight of 10 tons or more, traveling on the Ring Road 3, are discouraged from descending to the intersections on Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, and Nguyen Xien streets.
Additionally, the Hanoi Police advise individuals coming from other provinces to the capital to participate in the anniversary activities to use passenger cars, public transport, especially the elevated train; and to walk on certain streets in the Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Hai Ba Trung, Giang Vo, Ngoc Ha districts, and the surrounding areas of Ba Dinh Square.
Temporary Restrictions and Limitations from August 28 to September 5, 2025
To facilitate the Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in commemoration of the 80th National Day in Dong Anh, the Hanoi Police will implement temporary restrictions and limitations from 6 am to 12 midnight, from August 28 to September 5, 2025.
This includes a temporary ban on cargo trucks with a cargo capacity of 3,500 kg or more, passenger cars with a capacity of 29 seats or more (except for buses, garbage trucks, emergency response vehicles, vehicles with protective badges, vehicles of the Police and Military, and other priority vehicles); and limitations on trucks with cargo capacity below 3,500 kg, passenger cars with fewer than 29 seats, private cars, and motorcycles on Ly Son, Truong Sa, and Hoang Sa streets.
During this period, the Hanoi Police guide vehicles from Hai Phong and Bac Ninh to Phu Tho and Thai Nguyen provinces to use the route: Thanh Tri Bridge – Ring Road 3 – Vo Van Kiet Street, or Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway – National Highway 18 – Vo Van Kiet Street, and vice versa.
Vehicles coming from National Highway 3 to Xuan Canh Intersection and Bac Thang Long – Vuc De Intersection should travel on Hoang Sa Street – Vo Van Kiet Street. Cars from Noi Bai Airport heading to Vo Nguyen Giap Street or National Highway 18 should use Vo Van Kiet Street or Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway.
