According to Carscoops, scissor doors are a unique feature of Lamborghini vehicles, opening vertically instead of horizontally. Recently, an issue has been identified with the doors of 27 Lamborghini Revueltos, which may unexpectedly fall when open.
In late June, the Italian carmaker discovered this issue during pre-delivery inspections, finding a loose locking pin on one of the Revuelto’s doors. This could lead to the door falling unexpectedly when fully open, posing a potential safety hazard.
The door latch on this hybrid supercar is seemingly simple, but the doors themselves are not lightweight. A falling door could cause significant injuries to anyone nearby. The part responsible for holding the scissor door in place is small, as illustrated in the diagram below, and could fit in the palm of a child’s hand. Carscoops notes that only the bottom portion of the tubular assembly is the actual door latch.
Lamborghini has assured that dealers will inspect and tighten, or if necessary, replace this latch to ensure it functions properly.

As of now, no accidents or injuries related to this issue have been reported. Lamborghini will notify affected car owners between September 6th and 11th. However, as dealers received the notification on July 21st, it is likely that some of the affected vehicles have already undergone the necessary repairs.
