Chevrolet has unveiled a brand new SUV, set to launch in 2026. Positioned in the affordable segment, this SUV is exclusively designed for the South American market with no plans for export.
The upcoming SUV will be manufactured at the Gravatai plant in Brazil, which currently assembles the Onix hatchback and Onix Plus sedan. This SUV is also part of a $215.5 million investment plan to upgrade production lines, announced in 2024.
Positioned below the Chevrolet Tracker in terms of pricing, this new SUV will offer a practical design with a larger body and higher ground clearance compared to the Onix hatchback. While specific dimensions are yet to be revealed, we can expect a competitive size within the segment.

From the teaser images, we can see LED headlights with a unique split design, a large grille, sleek LED taillights, and a rear spoiler. The side profile showcases a crossover-like silhouette, indicating a spacious cabin and a comfortable ride height.
Under the hood, the SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.0L turbocharged engine compatible with flex-fuel (gasoline or ethanol) and delivering up to 121 horsepower. Transmission options may include a 6-speed manual or automatic, paired with front-wheel drive.
Upon its release in 2026, Chevrolet’s new SUV will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Teramont, Renault Kadjar, Fiat Pulse, and Citroen Basalt. All these models are based on small hatchback platforms but offer a more practical, raised design.
