The high-performance TRX pickup from RAM, absent for some time, is rumored to be back in production as early as January 2026, according to Mopar Insiders.
This news comes after Tim Kuniskis’ return to Ram. He and his former SRT team are credited with bringing the Hemi V8 5.7L engine back to the Ram 1500 lineup for 2026 in just six months, a remarkable feat considering the initial 18-month timeline.
The TRX, discontinued after the 2024 Final Edition, boasted a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine producing 702 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds. The new generation is expected to be even more powerful, possibly utilizing an upgraded version of the previous engine, targeting higher performance and positioned above the RHO in the product lineup.
The current RHO boasts a twin-turbocharged 3.0L I6 engine with 540 horsepower and comes equipped with adaptive Bilstein Black Hawk e2 suspension and a host of serious off-road features, many of which were first introduced on the original TRX.
While Ram has not confirmed the TRX’s return, with the brand set to announce over 20 new products in the coming year, its reintroduction seems highly plausible.
“I’m not sure, but I think the fact that he was the chief engineer of SRT must mean something,” Kuniskis said of Daryl Smith, who has been brought back to Ram to lead the TRX revival project.
