The B-segment sedans once dominated the top spots in sales across the Vietnamese automotive market. While representatives such as the Toyota Vios, Hyundai Accent, and Honda City still maintain decent sales figures, they no longer reign at the very top.
Entering August, many models in this segment are being offered with various promotions and discounts, with incentives reaching up to tens of millions of VND.
Toyota Vios with Registration Fee Support
As of the first half of the year, the Toyota Vios is currently the best-selling B-segment sedan. With 5,265 units sold in Vietnam, the Vios is the only sedan in this price range to make it into the top 10 best-selling cars.
However, the Vios is no longer the primary sales driver for Toyota in Vietnam. This could be one of the reasons why this affordable sedan continuously receives promotional programs from Toyota Vietnam.

Throughout August, the Toyota Vios will continue to be offered with a 50% discount on registration fees and a complimentary one-year Toyota body insurance package.
The total value of incentives for the Toyota Vios in August ranges from 30 to 35 million VND, depending on the version. Currently, the Toyota Vios is available in Vietnam in three versions, priced at 458 million, 488 million, and 545 million VND, respectively.
Honda City with 100% Registration Fee Support
Honda Vietnam is once again offering a promotion equivalent to a 100% discount on registration fees for customers purchasing the Honda City in August.
With current prices ranging from 499 million to 569 million VND, the incentive value for the Honda City is equivalent to 50 to 57 million VND, depending on the version.

In Vietnam, the Honda City is not the B-segment sedan with the most consistent sales performance.
This year alone, the Honda City has surpassed both the Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent twice to become the best-selling model in its segment. However, in the last two reporting periods, Honda City’s sales have hovered around 310 units per month.
The fluctuating sales performance is why the Honda City is currently the third best-selling B-segment sedan, behind the Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent.
Hyundai Accent with up to 50% Registration Fee Support
TC Motor announced a program offering up to 50% support on registration fees for all Hyundai passenger cars in Vietnam, including the Hyundai Accent.
With the Hyundai Accent’s current price range of 439 to 569 million VND, customers purchasing this Korean-made B-segment sedan in August can save up to 28.5 million VND.
Similar to the Honda City, the Hyundai Accent is also falling behind the Toyota Vios in the sales race. Since the beginning of the year, Accent has only crossed the 1,000-unit sales mark once, in March. In June, Accent’s sales were just over 52% of the Vios’ performance.
As of the end of June, Toyota Vios has accumulated sales of 5,265 units, while Hyundai Accent and Honda City have sold 3,793 and 3,585 units, respectively.

Overall, the three-way competition in the B-segment sedan market between the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Hyundai Accent has almost come to an end. Unless there is a significant breakthrough in the sales of the Honda City or Hyundai Accent, the Japanese representative, Toyota Vios, will once again be crowned the best-selling B-segment sedan in Vietnam.
Last year, Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent went head-to-head in the sales race. In 2023, the Toyota Vios emerged as the best-selling B-segment sedan with 14,210 units sold, slightly ahead of the Hyundai Accent’s 13,538 units.
